anti virus software tends to cause this problem
damn...how to remove it from the target of my Anti Virus, i have Mcafee.

After that reinstall, i needed to remove 2 mods. Havent lost my save game...which i m happy...but i don't reinstall everytime my computer do a complete analyse for viruses...

There is an option to exclude directories in most/all a-virus programs, a quick google search found this page[kc.mcafee.com].
Imho. McAfee has gone downhill since the original creator left, that has been quite a while now ;)
I use Avast (free) but it's all due to personal opinion and I actually didn't use any for quite some time without any problem, just doing a scan now and then with malwarebytes..
On the other hand, I really don't mind a wipe if something happens...

ok nice thx but i think its the Windows scan...i remember i did it right after playing. Then did tried to play..the game was gone.

I remember that McAfee asked me a long time ago if Transport Fever was safe..i clicked allow all the time....So i ll try to investigate.

And thx again

Anti Virus detect it us a Virus but it isn't, so you can select some items within youre Anti virus scanner that he should not search in for Virusses.

Had this exact issue with Ark. Eventually I had to uninstall the game, uninstall the av, reinstall the game, then the av and it's worked fine ever since.
Martin: well i did it and had many LUA error messages...like if my game didnt want me to use Mods anymore.

Had even that save and autosave crash to desktop error

My advice : uninstall this mcaffee ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
lol yeah i should...but i ve paid for a 1 year license :(

But Mcafee is ok with TF....so maybe it was my window analyse?

listen.uninstall Mcafee and get one like avira. These are more advanced.
McAfee is the biggest crap.
No no no. This is not the cause of the AV.

Your game is installed with the .manifest file. If the .manifest file got corrupt, Steam will see your game is not there, but it is.

Check: D:\Steam\steamapps\appmanifest_######.acf

The #### is the number of the game. To restore, run the Backup and Restore function in Steam, if you backup your game.

If you have another computer with the game on, copy paste the manifest file and it will work.

avira is probably multi language?well i have it in german
theres the free version;basically check the PC and then remove em if found, etc
bought version has many +'s from the free version, like advanced checks etc

Don't know if it was your AV or not... However I just want to say that I used avira myself for quite some time but the advertising on the free version has become annoying. If you register the free version of avast then there is 0 advertising (just give a random e-mail - takes 10s). It's also even more stealthy and low-weight.
I used many different AVs over the years and avast is currently the best free/registered solution imho.
