This works on the Oculus Rift wonderfully with touch countrollers. However the floor will be at eye level on Windiws 10 until you set lift.exe and Lift/Binaries/Win64/Lift-Win64-Shipping.exe to Windows 7 Compatibility mode.

While this is quick (I finished it in 45 minutes), it makes me yern for more Portal Stories, especially in VR. I would definitely pay for more Prism Studios work!

Extremely good, but too short. It basically feels like a tutorial, both in length and difficulty. Hopefully they'll make a sequel.

Quick Fix for Oculus Rift players - First starting the game your eye level with the floor and its not playable i found the quickest fix without even leaving the game is to lay on the floor and reset your view in Oculus then stand up and you view wont be on the floor anymore.. Great Mod, very short can complete in 1hr or less cant wait for more!

Let me just clarify, there are no portals here.

Note for Oculus users on Windows 10. You start with your body below ground and your head just above it. You have to do a Windows 7 compatibility fix to get it to work properly. But once you do the fix, it runs perfectly!

So the whole experience took me about 35 minutes. That included an ancillary experience after the game is over (which was pretty cool BTW). It's Portal, except in VR. I just wonder why only modders have made this versus Valve. Does Valve make games anymore? Portal 1 or 2 would be perfect for VR!

Anyways, it's 10 levels. You use one hand to beam cubes to you. You use the other hand to teleport around. There's also swtiches to activate by simply putting your hand on them or by putting cubes on them. You also have to crouch at times. Simple mechanics but the puzzles are creative. The VR environment looks just like the Portal you know and love. The voice acting is hilarious.

I had so much fun. I was smiling from ear to ear. I can't believe it's free. Thank you community-made mod team!

Rate 8/10. It's a must download, especially for Portal fans. Now make a full game for VR please Valve (I'll settle for just making Portal 1 & 2 for VR)!

Fun 10 levels with puzzles.
Not that hard but a nice feeling to be deeply integrated into the experiment :-)

Don't forget to take the 'bonus ride' after you finished the levels, it's worth it.

Set Lift.exe to Windows 7 compatibility by finding the executable, right clicking on it, and selecting Compatibility. Location should be SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Portal Stories VR

Portal Stories: VR is a neat tech demo, but not much else. The game consists of 10 puzzles plus a old aperture themed elevator ride, and unless you want to go through the tests again, there isn't much replay value. The aforementioned tests are all relatively simple and it took me about fifteen minutes to solve them all.

Despite being a Portal game there is no actual Portal Device. In its place you have a teleportation gun and a gun that uses a gravity funnel to pull things towards you. The developers found smart ways to put these tools to use thought more challenging levels would have been nice.

Overall Portal Stories: VR is an example of what could be done with Portal in VR. I would have liked for there to be harder levels, or more mechanics but as you get everything for free, its worth a download.

P.S. I played this game on the Rift S. Just by looking at your in-game 'hands' you can tell that the game is meant for the vive. However it it still very playable with the touch controllers.

I love the Portal games, and Portal Stories: Mel was incredible. When I got a VR headset I was excited to try this game out, but unfortunately it's not really like Portal at all. It uses the same world, but there are no portals. The puzzles are extremely basic and not challenging or fun. It's also very short, and definitely falls into the tech demo category of VR.
