Taffy on Floor 1-1

Why does he spawn on 1-1.
I have no gear, no major power-ups.
He MOCKS me.
He wastes a spawn of someone better... or equaly worse...

You can kill taffy quite easily buying a single damage relic an additional spell on the first floor or you can cheese him by building up signiture vs the boss as you kill it then jumping through the red portal to kill him that way.

The one that mocks you on the first floor is the one that buys relics.

With some loadouts you actually can kill him without an offensive relic/any other arcana.

I use Air Spinner, Cardice Prime and Volt Pinball (signature)

I also have that dash that gives me a water shield, shoots out a ball.

I'll pop Cardice & Volt, use the dash to pin him in the corner, my AoE spheres constantly hit him and I spam Air Spinner and he pops.

There are plenty loadouts that can kill him from the start. Any ward arcana for example easily does the job.

He strugged off 2 flame wards, static (basic), earth saws, Fireball.
Just him being at 1-1 is a chore.

i can litterally beat him with almost any setup pro tip use a basic with a fair amount of hits

Any basic arcana + fueled berserk should do the trick, but for easiest setup ice dagger, or bolt rail + berserk murders him in seconds

i dont even use fueled berserk i just use bolt rail and then as long as you have like one other arcana that hits multiple times you can break him

I think it's a combination of having a decent build and some skill (I doubt anyone beats him the very first time they ever meet him unless the RNG makes him appear oddly late).

Also, I feel like he/she is a bit tilted towards melee. Possibly also towards controller. For the people who have a lot of trouble, what is your setup?

The earth saw makes it super easy too. Just push him to a corner and then he'll get hit by all 5 at once.

I agree, i think the odds of beingle able to beat Taffy on first floor are way too unpredictable. There may be certain builds that simply cannot beat it on floor 1-1, even by charging the ultimate against the boss (not all ultimate signatures are multi-hit). You shouldn't be "forced" to always choose a multi-hit arcana as one of your 4 starting arcana JUST so you can beat Taffy IN CASE he shows up, as a safety measure. By floor 1-2, however, the player has, in total, access to 2 relic shops and at least 1 arcana shop, so it is ok then.

that's your fault the for not having a good build you shouldnt always be able to beat taffy

A similar question arises: should elemental lock chests appear in a floor when you don't have the right elements and the arcana store doesn't sell them?

It doesn't bother me too much, but it's definitely something that's worse than Taffy showing up when you can't beat them. Generally, I find everyone but the relic shop to be skippable on most floors. The arcana seller usually only makes me interested when they sell an enhanced version of one I already have.
