Hey everyone! Small but important patch today, mostly fixing things that were quietly broken behind the scenes.

Fury Strike + Multiball Fix
There was a bug where using Fury Strike while Multiball was active could behave incorrectly. This has been fixed (and then fixed again, because the first fix had a bug — you know how it goes).

Achievement Fixes
Several Steam achievements were defined but never actually unlocking due to code bugs. Apologies if you earned these and didn't get the pop — they should work correctly going
forward:

- 100× Combo — Was tracking your combo but never awarding the achievement at 100. Fixed.
- Score: 10 Million and Score: 100 Million — Same deal. The score checks stopped at 1 million and the bigger milestones were just... never checked. Fixed.
- Halfway There — Was firing way too early (at level 30 out of 112). Now correctly unlocks at the true halfway point, level 56.
- Habitual Fury (do Fury Strike 10 times) — This one requires a Steam backend stat to be registered, which wasn't set up properly. That's now configured — your count will start accumulating correctly from this version forward.

FURY STRIKE failure to fire sometimes during multiball patched.

v1.014 — April 3, 2026

Bug Fix: Fury Strike could fail to activate even with a full Fury bar. This happened when the primary ball was lost while MultiBall clones were still in play — the clones would charge the bar to 100% but pressing LMB+RMB did nothing. Fixed.

🎮 Full Gamepad & Controller Support
Purrbricks now has complete Xbox, PlayStation, and generic controller support. Aim and move the paddle with the left stick, navigate all menus with a virtual cursor, open the
Powerup Wheel with the right stick button, and trigger Fury Strike with the right bumper. All on-screen hints automatically switch between keyboard and controller
instructions depending on what you're using. Plug in a controller and everything just works.
NOTE: having BOTH a mouse and controller at the same time kindof has some issues. do one or the other for now please :).

⭐ Performance Stars
Finishing a level now awards 1, 2, or 3 stars based on how well you scored. After the level you'll see a hint telling you what score you need to reach the next star tier — so
there's always something to come back and beat.

📅 Daily & Weekly Leaderboards
The per-level high score boards now track Daily and Weekly scores separately from all-time. See how you stack up against other players this week, or try to top the daily
board before it resets.

🛒 Powerup Shop (formerly "Store")
The in-game store has been renamed to Powerup Shop to make it clearer what it is.

⚙️ Settings Now Auto-Save
Clicking DONE in the settings menu now saves your preferences immediately — no more worrying about whether your settings stuck.

🪟 Borderless Window by Default
The game now launches in borderless windowed mode by default instead of fullscreen, which plays nicer with alt-tabbing and multi-monitor setups. You can still switch to
fullscreen in Settings.

🎵 Music Fix
Alt-tabbing out of the game and coming back no longer restarts the current song from the beginning.

🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed the Gem Collector achievement not unlocking correctly
- Fixed a rare bug where the level select screen wouldn't load correctly from the Victory screen
- Better handling when the leaderboard server is temporarily unavailable — the game no longer hangs or crashes
- Various layout and UI polish fixes

Congrats to Seffi for being the first person to complete the game!!!

I was looking at the High Scores leaderboards tonight and noticed someone finally cleared Level 112! Congrats Seffi, I *really* appreciate you playing my game and also thanks for all the ratings on the levels!! After I get enough ratings from more people, I'll get rid of the 1-star rated levels and replace them with something better :). Awesome, nice job! <3 (as a side note, I think the percentages of how many people have completed that All Levels "Purrfect" Achievement is a bit off, considering Seffi is ...

[FIXED] Fury Strike not activating due to multiballs

EDIT: This has been fixed in Version 1.014! --- New bug discovered, sorry! I'll patch it up hopefully tonight or tomorrow. If you have multi-ball and the original parent ball is lost, when you finally reach full fury level, the trigger to activate FURY STRIKE will not work, because it was tied to the fury level of the primary parent ball. I will tie the fury check to the bar-level itself to fix this. So, maybe tonight I'll get a patch out. Thanks!...

FIXED: Level Editor Doesn't Save bug!

Found 2 unfortunate issues with the Level Editor tonight: 1) If you Save your level without checking the box to share with the community, it WONT SAVE your level. Sorry! If you check that Share checkbox, it WILL save your level. But of course then it will be public access. 2) Related to that, if you share your level, save, and then UNcheck the share checkbox and SAVE, it will remove your level from the public, but it will also not show up in your "My Levels" in the level editor also. Also: It might not...

I play on Linux, so maybe that's a factor. But the game has random bursts of lag for reasons I cannot figure out. Like, if I move my paddle side to side quickly the game can stutter. Or maybe that just makes me notice. One stutter was so bad the ball had time to go from the top of the screen to past the bottom before the stutter ended. Also, if I alt-tab out, the screen stays black and doesn't recover. I would imagine that's a Unity problem, not this game, but this game is the only game I've played (out of many Unity ones) that does this.

The gameplay seems fun and quite solid for a free game. Artwork is very nice.
