In the game-console (pressing ESC and scrolling upward), I noticed FMOD is disabled because the game could not find matching libraries, I guess this may be the cause of no sound.
So I tried fiddling with the FMOD-files, hence temporarly replacing the FMOD 4.42.04 files with the 4.44.50 files, but still keeping the names as they where.
With this I did see some changes in the output from the console.
There is no mismatch between FMOD libraries as it was before I believe, but I get several errors that FMOD is unable to initializing the sound system and sound-devices.
I have tried another version of FMOD (4.44.62), but with the same result.
Anyone successfully got sound in the yet not "released" Linux version?
This bug is important enough to have driven me away from the game, a game i LOVE.

If the developers don't care about such a bug for years, I won't trust them for a Linux version.
I have removed Frozen Synapse 2 from my wishlist.
Obviously it's not a good idea to try to jury-rig the current stuff to work with Linux, but I know it's a fool's errand to get Linux users to stop doing things like that!
That's not purely a Linux users trait. You just happen to notice it more on us because we always have to wait for everything longer than others.. ;-)
Good luck!
Aand that! :-D
That's so true !
So, just to be clear as i am a little lost with updates : does the current version of the game run on Linux yet ? In a beta tab or else ? Or via Proton ? Or not yet and wait is the answer ?
You have to select "multiplatform_test" from the betas, and i think the official stance is that the linux version is not stable enough yet to be relased as not-beta.
