Wow like looking in the mirror right, always there with some ♥♥♥♥ to say, maybe you should stop and think bout that
I can post anything and you two are there always
like i said before get a life, and leave me alone
While you can use software to set the frame rate to 144 FPS, it isn't beneficial. 60 FPS is the standard because that allows for fluidity and better response times. Mobile (Depending on the platform and hardware) can run it at 60 FPS, but gets bogged down on later rounds due to the lack of processing power, which then causes a 'Stuttering' like effect, since the game is now running at a much lower speed (IE, 20 FPS would be a staggering 66% slowdown, or 33% of the games actual speed).
I completely understand the 60Hz/144Hz fluidity argument, and it would most certainly be noticable on this game if supported, much like the mouse on windows, but that would mean that the developers would have to completely reanimate the game, since it's a 2D game and was animated at 60 FPS, which would probably mean redrawing every animation frame 144 times similarly to Cuphead if they wanted to do 144 FPS (While a 3D game can go to 144 FPS because the frames are drawn from the hardware, not before-hand).
The most noticable games which increase in fluidity (IMO) are Rocket League, Killing Floor 2, Guitar Hero, or generally any game with decent amounts of movement.
Hope this helps everyone understand the whole 144hz debate.
1. 144Hz definitely DOES make a major difference, and it does so ESPECIALLY in 2D scenarios, where motion across the screen can appear choppy on lower refresh rate monitors.
2. You will definitely have a better experience in TD battles if you are able to unlock the refresh rate. Ignoring the input delay that comes from your mouse, keyboard and the network, if a screen updates 60 times a second, that means that it updates once every 60th of a second, or every 16 milliseconds.
Compare this to a 144Hz monitor, which updates once every 144th of a second, or every 7 milliseconds, and you have cut the response time of your monitor by 9 milliseconds. Which means that for split second decisions, you have 9 milliseconds over your opponent.
3. The developers DON'T have to reanimate the game. Any sprite work will still run at whatever framerate it's designed for, but most of those animations run at speeds lower than 60 frames per second anyway.
Movement animations such as bloons moving across the screen, helipilots turning left and right and even menu's moving will be way smoother, because those are keyframed, which means that much like 3D animation they are given a start, an end and a way to go there. The in-between is calculated on the fly.
The real reason Bloons TD battles MIGHT not be able to support 144Hz is because of the game logic. If the game logic is programmed in a way that it updates once every 60th of a second, that may mean that the game would effectively run upwards of 2 times the speed. Seeing as how asynchronous tricks are able to be exploited within BTDB, this would effectively be a speedhack (although this wouldn't benefit the person with 144Hz that much. They'd get income twice as fast, but bloons would move across their screens twice as fast too, RIP micro).
And then you can easily kill your opponent, because they'll be on like round 5-10 xD
Mm, don't think so. Rounds do seem to be synchronized, like you both start the next round at the same time.
You'll still have double the amount of money your opponent has, and you could even use a tower like spactory (since it'd have double spikes due to double attack speed) and actually be able to crush any opponent LOL
I think you're getting a bit off-track with the speedup gimmickry. There's no telling if a higher game update rate would cause all that when the opponent is still locked at 60 updates. Hell, that is if that's the update rate at all, or if the update rate IS linked to the draw rate at all.
Go into a match, turn on Cheat Engine, set the game speed to 10x. You'll get DCed eventually because of it, but you can see what happens :)
Also, if you set the game speed to 0.1x or something similar, feel free to check that aswell.
I love how long this went on for after I gave up on trying to knock common sense into this kid. Although I myself was pretty Immature back then, the OP was the primal focus.
I also love how one person was able to instantly deduce my age like some Sherlock Holmes fanatic, connecting bits of strings and pieces together. "Oh hey look, he has a naruto pfp, aaand there's a number 7 in his name! This must mean he is 7 years old". I don't even know a kid that knows how to use grammar properly. But reading that made me laugh.
(fyi in case wondering why i'm replying now, just looking through my messages that I check once a year)
