I've been a player of BTD Battles for I guess 4 years, I used to have 88% win rate over 3000s battles, I stopped playing for years and start replaying this game since months ago, I reset my account everything starts from 0.

I want to write a complete guide as much as possible covering

Table of Content:
#1 Monkeys (Effectiveness on popping bloons, moabs, for long term or short term, cost effective, etc)
#2 Bloons Type (Bloons for increasing income, bloons for forcing player to spend on defense, etc)
#3 Battle Arena Difficulty (What to prepare, minimum power or monkey tiers before entering, etc)
#4 Map (Strategy for short map or long map, what to prepare like cost effective monkey, etc)
#5 Powers (Explanation, the best power to hold for defensive or aggressive players, etc)
#6 Player's behaviour (Based on the monkey like cobra or farm user and the power they hold, etc)
#7 Strategy (Combination uses of power, monkey depending of maps)
Let's start by introducing the effectiveness of monkey, and the secret behind most user don't notice.NinjaKiwi introduce all monkey available on BTD5, so basically if you're a fan of BTD5, you should know the effectiveness.

Dart Monkeys are always the best choice for beginner users that joins yellow colluseum, white wasteland and even BFB colosseum. They are good on early games for defend bloons with triple dart and can even wiped out all existing Rainbow Bloons rushed by your opponent with only x4 4-0 upgrade(or x2 4-0 with monkey booster, vid: https://youtu.be/gbZNodVZlb8?t=187, why so many energy? cloud save bug back in 2015), when properly set up(Target: Last), good for straight pathway like maps on Temple, Battle Sands, Yellow Brick Road, Snowfall, etc.

Without having much monkey money in the start, 3-0 upgrade is very effective in defending crowd bloons till stage 13, with only x3(200+90+120+500)= $2,730 you can defend all crazy bloons that spammed by your opponent. They are weak against lead, which is always a headache for me, why spend another $1,900 on Catapult while you can use other options like Sniper, Wizards, on early stage.

The 2-4 Monkey also provide an ability where you can power up 9 nearby monkey including you into super monkey which are effective in popping over 10 MOABS in short period, even frightening, they can pop more than 5 BFB with a "Damage Boost", they are a copy of 1-0 Super Monkey. Be sure to upgrade all your nearby darts monkey to 2-2, granting them a bigger range and 4 piercing per dart.

Pretty undervalue in this game right now, they re-price the 4-0 upgrade and 0-3 upgrade, adding both from $1,800 to $1,900 and $330 to $430 back in years ago, after that I see lesser and lesser people use now.

Tack Shooter

Tack Shooter, one of the most used tower in BTD Battle right now. Tack Shooter is one of the best tower recommended for QG, one single 2-3 could save you a bunch of mess till round 8, with just a spending of 360+210+300+75+175+600, $1,720 in early round 2, you can focus in building other stuff like Farms, or raise your income by spamming bloons. Unlike the 3-2 upgrade, every blade release from 2-3 pierce up to 2 bloons and have slightly faster attack speed than 3-2 although they shoot only 8 blades.

The 4-2 upgrade is an ineffective option if you build just to defend leads, they are also ineffective in defending Moabs, I believe they only cause 1 damage each, 2-3 would work better, I don't recommend you using them either.

The 0-4 activating ability... One click, bloons in your map vanish, nah not really. Depending on where you place your Tack Shooter, although it's a stunning activating ability, but they don't deal with Camo and Lead bloons. Unless you get the 0-2 or 0-3 Monkey Village upgrade, don't dream about it.

Overall, get the tier 3 upgrade as soon as possible when you have enough Meds. Expensive for leads popping, good for swiping mass bloons, bad for long game.

Ninja Monkey

QG - 3/5
MG - 4/5

Ninja, one of the popular monkey in BTD Battle community. I don't really like using Ninja for defense, the reason being they are not really effective in swiping mass bloons, although they causes 4 damage each to Moabs on their 4-0 upgrade. But it's never a good option in early game. I've played with so many players, and most starting with ninja failed to reach mid game if you rush them bloons, they are busy in building more monkey than increase their income
.
Most user failed to realize, that 0-1 and 0-2 upgrade wasn't really necessary. Depending on how you place your Ninja. Say for example you place Ninja distance from a track, 0-1 is recommended, if your monkey is near to track, then 0-1 is optional, I'm saying is not recommend to upgrade 0-1 in games till round 6, instead, you can save that little $250 for another Ninja, if you start with them.

Ninja are rated as overall-well monkey, which I'm more interested on their tier 4 upgrades. Their 4-0 upgrade shoot 4 shuriken, each piercing upto 4 bloons, each shot can hit 16 separate bloons. Imagine your opponent rushed you 60 zebra rebrow bloon, what is a better option? x3 4-0 Darts Monkey ($13,890) or 4x 4-1 Ninja ($20,000). Of course they have a reason being rated as overall-well monkey. Ninja can pop bloons, and moabs too, but they seriously cannot defend BFB or ZOMG.

The activating ability (0-4, Buy = $8900, Sell = $7,560) is more into my attention, I will get them whenever I play naval or long maps, your opponent. The activating ability will slow down all existing bloons and moabs that are coming in 15 seconds including the one on your screen. It's like, "WAIT PLEASE". NinjaKiwi was smart enough to nerf this, this activating ability actually cost very much lesser in the past. So when you shout, "WAIT PLEASE', this moment, you can do most thing like rushing your enemy back, or swipe all bloons with activating abilities, or just press the home button or hold the window tab on your Windows to think, you know you're allow a 30 second to think while you temporary quit the screen right?

Bomb Tower
MBD - 4/5

ESR - 4/5
QG - 4/5
MG - 4/5

VVLG - 3/5

Bomb Tower, one of the most used tower ever before power are introduce. a 3-0 (650 + 200 + 300 + 700 = $1,850) was enough the halt your opponent from rushing bloons. I used to hide bomb tower, and only shown up a quick upgrade to 3-2 when opponent rushes me bloons, It wasn't much effective nowadays, people just use power, lightning bolt, zap zap zap zap zap for 10 second.

Bomb tower are very recommended in the early game but till round 12. They are mostly seen in 3-2 or 4-2 upgrade, this destructive force can swipe all bloons nearby, but it could not detect camos, black and zebra. 4-2 can pop black and zebra but not camos except 2-4 upgrade. But that's an activating ability so, only works on a single shot.

If 3-2 or 4-2 is placed correctly, switching the target to close, can attack bloons in larger coverage, while I see most people don't do that.

What most stunning is, nobody at all using 2-3 upgrades, probably 1/200 matches. I guess people underestimate the power of 2-3. It's true, they don't whack camo and black, but what if you equipped with 0-3 Monkey Village? In description, they say x10 damage to moabs. It's a cheaper option to beat moabs.

Sniper Monkey
MBD - 1/5
MD - 3/5
CE - 2/5
ESR - 2/5
QG - 3/5
MG - 4/5
LG - 2/5
WLG - 1/5

Sniper Monkey, one of my favorite monkey, but their usefulness wears off as soon as you reaches Round 21. Many people don't aware the pros of a sniper monkey, they can hide, they can hide anywhere, you can sneak your sniper in a hiding spot like this, https://youtu.be/K5SAp_AOaEg.

Sniper Monkey are only worth for their 1-2 or 2-3 upgrade, the 1-2 upgrade is a cheaper option to pop lead bloons in round 10. The 2-3 upgrade can swipe expensive bloons like rainbow bloons and ceramic, even ceramic in quick shot, remember to set your target to "Strong". They can even beat MOABS till round 20, no they are not good with BFB.

If you're a mid gamer seeking opportunity for a comeback, Sniper is a much cheaper option to hold until Round 20.

Boomerang Thrower
MBD - 5/5
MD - 2/5
CE - 4/5
ESR - 4/5
QG - 4/5
MG - 3/5
LG - 2/5
WLF - 1/5

Boomerang Thrower, only effective for early games, unless you have other monkey to deal with the BFB and moabs, 4-2 is an incredible tool to swipe all weak bloons at the end of the track.
2-3 upgrades are mostly seen in nowadays game, well they are most effective till round 8, they couldn't stop the yellow bloons rush unless you had 2 of them. 3-2 upgrades are a little bit expensive but the purpose of them is to cool down the bloon rush, unless you have 3 of them, you are save till round 15, their boomer are weak against ceramic, which take 10 hits to break. Always switch your target to Close, you want that boomer to stream around the bloons as soon as possible.

2-4 activating ability is one of the most common and used power nowadays, they are great against camo, group bloons(not the big one). They are just legend coupling with damage boost power.

Overall, great on mass bloon defense, weak on moabs defense.

Wizards, lots of people underestimate it's power. It's lightning zap were further featured by a power called "Lightning Bolt", zap zap zap for 10 seconds. Wizards are overall great monkey, I mean the best? A couple of 2-0, 4-0, 0-3 upgrade are enough to deal great number of bloons, while 0-3 can finish a moabs, BFB..... Save it for another time.

I've seen most people always had their wizard upgraded to 2-3, which is not really necessary, you're spending another $1,400 on what I personally think not so useful? 0-3 is $3,600 while 2-3 is $5,000. Unless you have extra monkey money for it, I don't recommend having both.
0-4 activating ability is insane, really. They can swipe hundreds of rainbow bloons with just a single tap, I guess Ninja has merf it's power. In before, they are weak.

A trick most people don't notice is that, with 0-1 monkey village and a 0-1 wizard, their fireball can pierce 2 bloons, meaning they are damaging 2 area of bloons, they fireball do not work on blacks and zebra, 2-3 monkey village is needed. What even stunning is 2-3 monkey village + x20 0-1 wizards are capable of dealing with stack ceramic in round 32, change your target to last.

Monkey Buccaneer
MBD - 4/5
MD - 3/5
CE - 4/5
ESR - 5/5
QG - 4/5
MG - 3/5
LG - 3/5
VVLG - 1/5

Monkey Buccaneer, a cheap 1-2 upgrade can pop 15 bloons each shot, 3-0 upgrade with pop boost(x2 pierce), group bloons is nothing! But they are weak against leads, even with 1-3 you sometime miss a couple of leads, they roam across your sight, and goes, bai bai.

What best advantage of Monkey Buccaneer was, 0-4, their activating ability, coupling with slow down activating ability like 0-4 ice and 0-4 ninja, MOABS, BFB and ZOMG are slowed down by 50% x 50% = 75%. That way, you can bring down moabs easily, but I prefer fight back since your opponent may have just spent all their funds.

Spike Factory
MBD - 2/5
MD - 4/5
CE - 2/5
ESR - 1/5
QG - 2/5
MG - 3/5
LG - 3/5

Spike Factory, can't give a word are for near to end track defense, are not use mainly for attacking bloons. Unless you built a bunch near the end track in round 12, sell and spam your opponent bloons in round 13. I don't find it useful.

The activating ability 0-4 is more a thing to note, but it's freaking expensive to buy one. They are capable to destroy ZOMG, BFB, and MOABS easily, again. Freaking expensive.

Glue Gunner
MBD - 4/5
MD - 1/5
CE - 2/5
ESR - 2/5
QG - 2/5
MG - 3/5
LG - 1/5

Glue Gunner are used to slow down bloons, they are not really effective in dealing with MOABS. Their upgrades for 4-2 are also freaking expensive, NinjaKiwi reduce the cost of 0-2 to $600, I guess they find it worthless too.

They are only effective in slowing rainbow and ceramic, that's all.

Ice Tower
MBD - 4/5
MD - 3/5
CE - 3/5
ESR - 4/5
QG - 4/5
MG - 3/5
LG - 2/5

Ice Tower is great in dealing with mass bloon, they are very useful for early stage. A simple 2-0 could save you loads of money for other uses. They are weak against MOABS, but if the MOABS are surrounded with bloons. 2-3 could swipe them out in split of second. Stunning.

The activating ability 0-4, not only freeze bloons, they also slow MOAB-Class bloon as well, not to mention camo bloons too, coupling with 0-4 ninja, MOABS-class bloon can be slowed upto 75%.

Monkey Ace

Mortar Tower
MBD - 4/5
MD - 1/5
CE - 4/5
ESR - 4/5
QG - 3/5
MG - 2/5
LG - 1/5

Mortar tower, best tower ever to swipe bloons in a big radius. Although they are not cheap, but mortar tower pierce every bloons they target unlike some tower like 3-2 ice. If a exceed a certain limit of bloons, 3-2 ice will ignore them.

Mortar tower if practice correctly with it's setting, you can bomb any bloons you like on screen.

The 0-4 activating ability is worth a talk once trigger, all bloons including moabs, BFB and zomg are temporarily stunned, freeing you more time.

Banana Farm
MBD - 1/5
MD - 1/5
CE - 3/5
ESR - 4/5
QG - 4/5
MG - 5/5
LG - 5/5

Banana farm is the most used ever building in BTD Battle, like most used. Over 90% of the players in BFB Colosseum use this combo with eco farm. It's monkey generator, but in my opinion players are too obsess in building them, wait till round 13 and launch a rainbow rush. Literally, is not a skill to me.

I mostly use farm as a distraction to player, telling them, "hey you see this farm? peace, I won't send you bloons until round 13". But in reality, I sold them in early rounds like 7 or 8 then sending them a bloon rush, otherwise. The farm is serve as an reserve fund, in case all money is spent, I will sell them immediately for an extra bloon rush.

Super Monkey
MBD - 5/5
MD - 5/5
CE - 1/5
ESR - 1/5
QG - 2/5
MG - 4/5
LG - 5/5

I don't think I will need to explain Super Monkey, 3-2 is stronger than 2-3 while, 4-2 sacrifices with more than 6x 4-2 bomb tower, extend the damage to moabs.

Monkey Village
MBD - 1/5
MD - 1/5
CE - 3/5
ESR - 3/5
QG - 3/5
MG - 4/5
LG - 5/5

Monkey Village, I don't see people using. The 0-1 upgrade are superior coupling with monkey like 1-0 Heli, 0-1 Dartling Gun, 0-1 Wizards. The 0-3 upgrade also further enhance the power for 4-2 Heli, 2-4 Dartling Gun and 0-1 Wizard.

The stunning activating ability coupling with tower booster, increase your monkey speed by x2 + (tower booster's power). That is insanely quick. Incase, watch this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn14zuBXgJk

Misc:
1- Selling Monkey could only get you a 80% return.
2- Tap and hold the bloons for 2 second, they are sent automatically.

Tricks:
1- Wait, give me 20 second!
Tap the home, or drag the window if you're using Windows, to temporary drop off the connection to the game, allowing you to have an extra, upto 30 second to think, "What to do".

2- First bloon are never a regrow bloon.
Did you know, regrow are 65%+ much expensive? This is kinda useful tips to save a percentage of your fund, because the first bloon that gets out, will be swiped instantly without having a chance to regrow, always only use regrow bloon after the 2nd or 3rd bloon. Otherwise, stack a few white bloon first before rush your enemy regrow zebra or rainbow.

3- Shorten the spawn time of the round.
Many of the eco players out there heavily relay the cooldown assigned by system, which is 30 second cool down to re-launch the power. 1st round take 28 second to finish, if you place a monkey on the entrance will shorten the duration to 22 second. Which they only can retrigger another eco in round 3 instead of round 2. This is very effective in dealing with farmers, which how I deal with most Colosseum players.

4- Use white bloons instead of black bloons.
Unless you're building up your passive income in round 20+, don't use black bloons, the black spawn faster than the white, but the amount of RDE is the same, both are 12. White is $125 and black is $150, white are 17% cheaper, which means you can you spam them 20% more, which are RDE 14x3(each pack of white bloons). Should I put this in the bloons facts?

Strategy:
1- Tag along with the bloons.
Many people do not know when to rush bloons, there are some rounds which are tough, which are not tough, say for example for mid gamer, Round 16 filled with a couple of zebra and regrow zebra bloons, Round 22 filled with a couple of ceramic, Round 32 filled with insane stacked of ceramic and camo leads, Round 42 the first ZOMG, this is the best time to rush tagging along with them. Round 17 filled with big spaces of yellow camo, running each by each, that's not a good time to rush your enemy, unless you're showing him sympathy.

2- Fake attack, to force enemy pushing that "Tower Booster" or "Track Power" button.
There are times you see your opponent comfortably building farm and enjoying the sun like, this time use half or a quarter of your money, push the offensive power button, rush him a couple of bloons, until he pushes that booster power, pause for awhile, wait everything to cool down and launch a second attack.

3- Setup traps then rush your enemy with remaining funds.
Engineering monkey leave traps behind even though they are sold off, if you have say for example $10,000 monkey funds. You can build 4 traps and sell them with a remaining of $5.960, you can spam them 27 zebra bloons. This trick... You better leave some camo shield behind.

4- Pressure your enemy, be aggressive tell them, spend monkey on your defense.
Most player I've encounter I guess roughly over 90% of player who are farmer, do not build serious defends. Only those BFB Colosseum does. The effect are similar cutting their income by half, can you spend $200 to defend 80 reds? Pressure them, don't let them farm so relax.

5. Pretend you spend all your monkey on bloons.
This is kinda of an old trick sometime your opponent are aware of your spending, most player out there spend out every single monkey money they have. Instead of going full, reserve 30% of your monkey, then give them a fake rush or wait for them to rush down to break all their spending.

6. Against the leads noob.
Most of the time, lead popper are expensive, they don't work on based monkey except for a few, wizard, bomber, mortar, when reaches round 10, tap 1 single lead bloon and then spam them white bloons, pink bloons mostly rush in the front so, it's really awkward.

7. Build momentum in the coming round.
Players always alert the even round like 2,4,6,8,10. Because it unlock a bloons option, most of the times player failed to build a right defense here. They are most in relax state of mode like, I'm waiting round 13 to launch my attack. Instead of waiting them, launch a panick attack in round 9 with yellow bloons, and quickly switch them to pink bloons, or in round 12, launch the attack with white, and switch to zebra in round 13. One of my favorite strategy.
