api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing
Has anybody else had this problem, when trying to run the 4.7 update of Battles? I've tried reinstalling and repairing the C++ 2015 and 2013 versions. I've done sfc/scannow through cmd and I've done all other windows updates. I've even tried reregistering the programs through cmd.

I did some digging and this is a known issue for many apps with outdated versions of Windows.

I'd suggest to try this out:

Install Windows Updates:
Go to Start - Control Panel - Windows Update
Check for updates
Install all available updates.
After the updates are installed, restart your computer.
After the restart repeat the steps above again until no more updates are available.

Download the Visual C++ Redistributable:

For Windows 64-bit
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=746572
For Windows 32-bit
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=746571

Run the vc_redist.x64.exe (64-bit) or vc_redist.x86.exe (32-bit) and select Uninstall
Run the .exe again and select Install.

Hope it helps!

Hi Hayley thanks for your help but I was trying this last night and it didn't work. I was up till gone 1 in the morning installing the necessary patch to allow me to install the updates, both of which took forever. when I finally downladed C++ nothing had changed.
It still thinks api-ms- ... is missing. Do you know if there is a particular location in which it should be stored?

Sorry, Truthnuggets. Can you ensure that the downloads were actually installed and completed, please? Also, can you double check you installed both the 64-bit AND 32-bit versions? :)

I did install both versions and they did complete but I've noticed now that they appear to replace the 2015 versions and it won't let me have both installed at the same time. Is this right?

Me too. Have you gone to your files, windows7(c:)/program files(x86)/Steam/steam apps/common/bloons TD Battles/ and tried to start battles.win from there?
Truthnuggets Nov 23, 2017 @ 5:11am
What does it say?
76561198343971202 Nov 23, 2017 @ 5:14am
api thing inst on my pc or something
Truthnuggets Nov 23, 2017 @ 5:16am
Yes same problem as me. I'm not sure if it will work but use your windows search bar, type updates and try to install all available updates.
It may take a while and some may not install so you might need to download an update readiness pack form the microsoft site! Also I don't think all updates are necessary (e.g. I had one for Skype) but I've installed them all anyway.

EDIT: My bloons is working again!!!!! Hi arhodes, I thought I had installed all updates last night but I discovered more by actually clicking "check for updates". After you've done this (it might seem to take forever, I've only just finished) use the links given above and I believe it will work. Good luck.

Hi Truthnuggets, I'm glad it worked!

For everyone else with this issue, please remember to re check for new windows updates every time after installing updates. They can keep on coming for a while before windows is actually up to date.
