How to accsess my account in steam?

I have existing account but have not played this for few years. downloaded and wanted to give it a try again, but if i start game it only says "Create your player name"

I have 1 i dont need to make it.

Also my username is still in use so it still exist. i can log in website tho.

Can anyone pls give me advice.

Not sure if this will work for you, but it worked for me just now.

If you log into the site and go to your account settings, there's a linked accounts tab in the options. Click on that, find Steam in the list and link your steam account. Then re-launch the game in steam, and type in your username when it asks you to make one.

I just did that and it linked up to my old progress and popped a bunch of steam achievements all at once.

actually got things solved a day ago. wrote to support, had to wait for them to reply, sent them founder purchase detiles and account was made active.
