Game Corrupted
I was in a TDM game when everything froze for a minute. I figured I was getting DC'd or the servers were going down. It threw me back to the loading screen which looked like this: https://i.postimg.cc/qqPt7dx1/failadins.jpg
Notice my icon is missing.

I thought I was getting reconnected to the match but after about a minute here, it threw me back to the main menu. From there, none of the buttons on the UI worked. I could get to steam overlay, but the game was unresponsive. I had to alt-tab and close the game. Now it refuses to run. I tried opening it and got "Launch Error: The system cannot find the file specified."

I verified the integrity of the local files and it said one file failed to check out and will be re-downloaded. Did that, started it again, and now I get "An error occurred while updating Paladins (corrupt game files)" with it pointing to the launcher.

The game is now stuck on "validating 0%" in my library even after restarting steam.

Uninstalled the game and redownloaded. Now it's stuck on "updating" after finishing the install. If I try and run it, I get "Error occurred while updating Paladins (content file locked)" pointing to the same launcher file that it did when it said it was corrupted.

This file it points to doesn't exist, and even after deleting the folder it says it's located in, the game continues to say all files are validated.

Found out what it is on my own, which is good, because I got 0 help from Hi-Rez.

Ever since the new update, Avast recognizes the launcher as a virus. Have to disable anti-virus to update, verify, or run the game.
