As soon as ThunderBrush left the Paladins development team I knew it was all downhill from there. He was a sign of there still being high quality content coming to the game, but Hi-Rez forced him to play with the idea of only having copy-pasted characters being added in future; rather than unique fully-fledged characters which we had been getting.

Overall Evil Mojo didn't have a lot of pure talent left and the quality of updates started to become incredibly bland and mediocre at best. I hadn't purchased an Event Pass in a long time due to this, and I used to buy them all constantly.

The fact that all the funding got put towards SMITE 2 is just a huge slap in the face. SMITE 2 shouldn't even exist, all they had to do was upgrade/revamp the original SMITE properly. Which is why SMITE 2 is only pulling the playerbase apart and on its own has quite low player numbers. It's essentially a huge failure before it even came out the door.

Hi-Rez will totally die off soon, I'm sure. I can't really say it's a bad thing, the management have been so terrible at their jobs for years now. :sans:

Even the Hi Rez CEO looks like never graduated from college with all the stupid decisions he made. He is the main at fault here. Never seen a CEO so incompetent like him. And as if not enough, the coward shut off all his social network accounts.

The director board should get this moron fired right away!

I really hope the talented people that got fired from this idiot of a CEO, start their own game studio and make a Paladins-like game. I know, Marvel Rivals is there, but good games always find their public.

Unfortunate turn of events, but I think we all saw it coming eventually after through the years how Hirez treated Paladins and their games. Can't really say it was a good run, but a hell of a run that had its both hilarious and catastrophic bugs.
Also, a worthy mention, its honorable community were stubborn to let the game die, meanwhile hoping for it to turn better. I've never seen such dedicated players before.
I'll probably play the game a little bit more to relieve the nostalgia before it kicks the bucket.

this is the cycle of hi-rez
  • Create a new incredible IP with fresh and cool ideas
  • missmanage it awfuly
  • playerbase Plummets
  • Developers go all hands on deck, Life support
  • Hi-rez stops giving it updates
  • servers eventually close
  • New game
  • Repeat

I will never play another hi-rez game in my life. I also stopped being a live service andy, because you either burn out, or you play long enough to see the game you adore die.

So true.
They are actually good at making games, but they are even better at destroying them.
Hi-Rez once again doing what Hi-Rez does the best, running IP to the ground.
