it's zombie game so basically it was dead along time ago. I wish other devs can copy the OG paladin during OB which was the best and peak of the game, to create remaster one

Too low players currently. The game is dying and hirez will do anything to make comeback. Unfortunately, it becomes worse by each updates. Wait for the pubg copy and more bugs. HueHueHUe

If you keep up your grump and salt and grudge, I'll see you around for years to come, buddy.

I - and I'm currently playing on an alt-account, mostly - get into a match within a few minutes. Most matches are fun, I'd say easily 7 out of 10. In 3, I could have a bot on my team. I don't have any game-breaking bugs - not everybody has them, it's probably a minority, and the devs don't have the resources to fix all of them. Unfortunate.

And yes, the game is "dying". Numbers are going down ever since it was released. This year there was actually a significant uptick, because of the Overwatch-desaster. In general, it's my impression that it's largely the hero-shooter genre. There has not been another (successful) hero shooter since the release of Paladins and Overwatch. It seems to be an unpopular genre. Even industry giant Overwatch "2" is currently sitting at "Overwhelmingly Negative" reviews and only has < 30k players. Paladins still is "Very Positive" btw., and "Mostly Positive" in the recent reviews.

That leads to a vicious circle. Decreasing player numbers = decreasing resources = decreasing quality of the game itself, less bug fixes, less innovation.

But - again - I have no doubt that the game will stay online for years.

It's still a great foundation, and there was a reason why those shooters became popular in the first place.
I'm not opposing a reboot to earlier versions, because it's true that it was a constant downhill, a new, overthought approach could be better; games like these have the profound difficulty that with ongoing time, there's such a variety in characters that regardless what you release, there is bound to be a great imbalance that can't be solved as such, or at least, it costs an ever-increasing amount of time and effort to do so - understandably, this is being put back in priority, but that's a downward spiral for the game experience, even if introducing new chars is supposed to be refreshing for the game (and it is) - I believe that's the core of all evil therein, the lack of a constant gameplay experience without enough refreshing new content to make up for it. It's great to introduce something new, but thus mixing up everything established isn't exactly funny for the casual player who has to come back to a wholly new game every time they come around. Games like CS thrive on the fact that they don't change much fundamentally all at once; here you have direct changes in numbers every single match, and often not unsubstantial ones, either, as if there was a lack of sensitivity and a profound carelessness among the developers.
Instead of bringing out new chars every other month, I believe there should be work on gamemodes instead - not even necessarily fixing bugs, the game is wonky in quite a couple edge cases, but really, while the character economy is unnecessarily being shaken up in different directions every patch, sometimes in a completely illogical one at least per popular review (see last patch character changes..), we haven't been seeing anything interesting in gamemodes since.. well, I believe OB, when we had PvE gamemodes, albeit I haven't been active much throughout the years, but every once in a while that I came back the only thing I have seen was new (messed up) characters, nothing else.

Of course, that also reduces someone's will to play ranked. People tend to point out here sometimes that you don't want to have to spend 30mins in pickban figuring out which of the 3934839 bans you have to take are going to go on which chars, and which one of the 94849543 different champions you are going to pick - my personal go-to suggestion is to have a season-based pre-ban to limit the amount of characters for a certain amount of time right off the bat, so people know there is a set of reserve that's open in casual, but wont be in ranked for a good while. Could either be a voting event for the playerbase, a fixed rotation, an odds-based rotation, or whatever else you may want to imagine. I believe it'd be worth a try to lift the workload off the plethora of champions that have to be re-balanced (and thus arent because it's too much work, incrementally) to focus on those that are in a currently-set ranked pool, that might actually become a mode people would play again, then, if the characters were a good matchup and they didn't have to spend half an hour banning.

Well, thanks for confirming that some people want just to pull the plug here...
