Transfer account from steam to PS4

Hello comunity!

I recently got a PS4 and I was wandering what is the purpose of linking the steam account overthere, if you cannot get the full account on the PS4. I mean, it doesnt make sense to have the link, it does nothing... I really want to find out if this is possible because is not the cross thing as far as I can see it, taking in consideration that neither Steam, neither PS, are not owning the game, but Hi-Rez.

I suspect it's to allow cross-play between ps4 and steam devices, rather thank linking/using the account 'stuff' between the accounts.

Unfortunately, the Playstation is the only system that does not allow account linking, meaning you cannot just transfer your skins and other goodies and pick up where you left off. They allow cross-play, but not cross-transferring, either to or from the Playstation system. I found that out the hard way myself trying to link up my PS5 to my PC game data.
