I love Paladins with so much of my heart. I've only been playing so long, but maybe give me a reason to keep playing beyond yet another character that's broken in either way, and patches that make infuriating characters more infuriating. Just pay voice actors to do the lines.

I literally read the thread and there's no proof in there outside of a vague clause about how if talent is unable to perform they may potentially do so, but right before it is an ENTIRE PARAGRAPH detailing how they don't have the rights to synthesize their voices if they're able to perform.

Owl is right, this is blatant misinformation. Nowhere has Hi-rez actually said they'd do such a thing.

Because it's replacing human being and devaluing the worth of human talent and creativity. You're taking someone's skill, artistry, and unique flair and turning it into just a commodity produced by a machine.

To be fair: It takes 2 to tango. Are "hey, we can do whatever we want with your voice" clauses scummy? Yes. But its the respective VA that signs the contract. Legally the cant do sh*t without the VAs consent, and even then they can only act within the confines of that contract.
As was already pointed out, that "companies will replace all VAs now and we cant do anything about it!" narrative is just plain misinformation / fearmongering.

LLMs are trained with stolen datas anyways , it's not only a voice issue. Midjourney /Dall E for example uses large amount of artstation/pinterest/Getty images database to train without permission and many of these material was under copyright control. The devellopers of these 'AIs' don't care. And people don't care. People will care probably when their DNA will be stolen and stocked to be sold or when their kids will be arrested because a predictive palantir profiled them as potential criminals.
