Cauterize makes the game almost unplayable.
I love cauterize, I loved when you had to buy it, but the current state of cauterize is absolutely horrendous. I've been playing a lot recently because I re-kindled a love for the game, but at the moment I really don't enjoy playing my main role because after 1 round of a capture and a defense, we're at 50% reduced healing. It's super upsetting to know that you have to play comps and the game in general based around cauterize. I don't mean to ♥♥♥♥ on the game but it is almost unplayable. The game's meta right now is a 1 healer meta, which makes zero sense if you're going to make the game around not doing any healing. Most healers only have healing. There's very few uses of any healers due to their lack of CC. I've only been able to play Grover-Deep Roots, Mal Damba, and Io successfully. Without any CC AND an escape, the game isn't fun for a healer.

The game doesn’t really change for a healer because it’s just less healing as long as your smart it’s fine.

It's not less healing, it's no healing... and the fact that everyone is affected by Cauterize just makes you useless. You either play like a god every game or ff from the beginning.

As a damage and support main, there is still healing it’s reduced like for example when I played Grover I did 1,000 healing with blossom while now I can only do 800 so the healing is still there. “No healing” that’s wrong actually play the game as a healer before you talk about stuff you know nothing about.

If cauterize hinders healers that much, wouldn't it be more beneficial to just go another damage dealer and run no healer?
The healing hasn't gotten any worse, players just need to take cover more often. As a healer/tank main, I honestly love the update. The only time I have trouble is when my teammates don't take cover, like they're now learning that they have to do lol

You are actually the most retarded person I've ever seen, please stop commenting on discussions. Half way through a game you are sitting 50% reduced healing. If you have 1020 heal from Grover's blossom, and reduce that by 50%, it is not 800. Please please please ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do not ever comment on something you have zero knowledge about you ape.

Lol wow well would you look at that I just did a simple google search and I’ll copy what it says “Grover passively heals all allies for 80 per second, activate this ability to do a burst of 800 healing” funny thing is before the healing update it was 1,000 not 1020. Also The whole please don’t comment on something you have zero knowledge about comment was a lie but judging by how your acting I say your no older then 7 if petty insults is your go to argument. I’ll comment on what I want to as long as I follow the rules. Go on google a simple search how much does Grover heal and it’s going to say 800 and 1000. Oh would you look at that private games can’t see if ya play Paladins. Go back to elementary school. I’m not good at math and yet I have the numbers for Grover’s heals a simple search.

Meanwhile "good" support players still do over 100+ k healing in fast games and 200+ k in long ones...
First advice:, cauterize effect pass over time, If target is not getting dmg from main weapon... Wait for that moment, If You know You can do it, to heal target for 100% of Your heal. Believe Me, You have those opportunities and more than You think. You just don't realizing it.
Second advice: stop spamming heals left and right, (I bet You do that probably even on full health targets), that helps a lot with skill CD management and makes You heal more.

i personally hate the caut change and iv been very vocal about my hate for it... like the fact that 5 minutes into a game your already getting hit with like 50% cauterize.... by the 5 minute mark most teams haven't even completed the 1st payload push.... and then it just gets worse as time goes on its a stupid system... cauterize should be implemented on an ability basis and thats it.... only specific champions should be able to inflict cauterize like how willo does it for example... giving cauterize to everyone literally just runs in favour of champions with a high rate of attack like tyra, koga, fernando, raum, VII, moji, grohk... etc.. basically any champion with low damage but high rate of attack benefits the greatest from the way caut is right now because it doesn't matter if you get hit with 1,000,000 damage or 1 damage caut is applied exactly the same regardless... which is annoying as hell cause one of those rapid shot champions can just sit in the backlines holding the LMB inflicting 90% caut while dealing absolutely no damage...

like honestly if they made it so cauterize is inflicted by specific abilities they could make it so different levels and lengths of cauterize can be used. like for example let say we were going to add cauterize to betty la bomba, a great ability for that would be "hail of bombs" but make it inflict 25% cauterize per hit lasting for a 3 second duration

or jenos's void grip could inflict 35% cauterize and increase by 5% every 0.5 seconds the enemy is held and could last 1.5 seconds after the enemy is hit like the normal caut

and if 2 cauterize abilities are used on the same enemy the stronger cauterize effect is the one that will be applied and the longest duration on the stack is the one that would take precedent, so if you hit an enemy with a cauterize that inflicts 90% cauterize but lasts for 1.5 seconds and another teammate hits them (before the 1.5 seconds is up) with a cauterize that inflicts 15% cauterize but lasts for 6 seconds, you would end up with a 90% cauterize that lasts 6 seconds instead

so basically any teammate would be able to refresh the cauterize timers on an enemy being inflicted by cauterize but the stronger cauterize effect stays ontop of the stack as long as the timer is refreshed by another cauterize ability

I agree I came back a while ago and couldn't do anything when I was playing healer and only got berated for a healer. I didn't understand why I just kept dying when I was playing chain lightning ghrok when it used to be so good and I tried other healers but they all sucked too. The 90% antiheal scaling is absolute trash and I uninstalled and just keep checking back to see if they revert the change. I think one solution they could try is 40% anti heal from scaling then 45% from item buys and then it's capped out at 85% but damage doesn't just get a free pass to ignore heals after a min in game.

You realize that cauterize falls off when you're not actively being shot, right? I have zero issues playing support.
Sophieeee May 22, 2022 @ 7:24pm
Cauterize should be 90 at the beginning of the match, always.
Hyoumei May 22, 2022 @ 7:37pm
killing the enemy is the best support you can give.
I played a game with 3 supports on the other team and an ash tank, my team had no damage to kill, 90% cauterize at the beginning of the game would be good.
There are games that you win by walking forward and there are others that the enemy team will just walk forward, no matter how much you hit.
