STOP GIVING DESERTER PENALTY FOR CRASHING

Nobody can control it. Your game is in beta. It crashes.

I feel like the only way to fix this is to get rid of deserter penalty all together for instances where people fail to press the 'ready' button. Queue times are less than a minute, usually, so there's no reason people should be getting punished for this, especially when the game responds so poorly to alt-tabbing and the like.

I've put this in the OB forms every patch, but Hi-rez keeps ignoring me.

GET RID OF DESERTER PENALTY on ready up. That ♥♥♥♥ is whack and does nothing but annoy people.

To be fair, I don't agree with removing the penalty for not clicking Accept, it keeps AFK players or trolls from re-entering the queue over and over again and preventing other players from playing the game. Although, I have had problems with the deserter penalty from leaving the match while in God selection or in the actual match itself. Sometimes I'll be playing a match and I may crash near the end and before I can get back into the match it will have already ended and I'll have the deserter penalty for 30 minutes. Other times my computer will have randomly shut off while playing the match or while in God selection and by the time I get it rebooted and have relaunched SMITE, the match will have been over and once again, I'll have the 30-minute deserter penalty. To be fair, this problem is easily fixable, say if Hi-Rez actually went and added a software that detected if the player actually pressed ESC and left the match, then they would get the penalty, but if the player will have just suddenly disconnected from the match, meaning they may have crashed, then they wouldn't get the penalty. I understand that some people could abuse this by simply turning off the PC intentionally, which isn't smart because it causes problems for the PC since it didn't get to go through the shutdown protocol, or just using Task Manager to stop the program, but it's better than players getting punished for something they did not mean to do or just generally, didn't intentionally do.

I have seen many people who doesn't click on "ready" for no reason.This leads me to wait 5 minutes sometimes which is very annoying.If they crash just like you then they don't deserve penalty.
But People who doesn't select a hero during the selection screen because their main is already taken deserves deserter penalty of more than 1 hour

It has happened to me a couple of times where it froze for me at the bit where I'm choosing champions before a match. Therefore, I couldn't choose a champ and everyone else gets kicked out of the match because I have not chosen and then on top of it I get a 30 minute ban. I play with my partner and he's sat next to me on his PC so when this happens it just looks on his screen (and possibly the other players' screens) that I have not chosen when in reality I'm frantically clicking on any champ. So for this silly bug to happen, and I am well aware this is in Beta and bugs happen, and then get slapped with a ban where I wasn't in the wrong is pretty much out of order. When this happens, I simply just log out of the game and spend the rest of my evening playing other F2P Beta games. It is making me think now that all those times we see a player not choosing a champion or not joining a match, it it not someone being an idiot. It might just mean that someone, somewhere out there has encountered the bug and is about to be punished for something that wasn't his or her doing.

Something else that has happened to me recently was the game crashed and I was kicked out. I then re-logged in, re-joined and then got kicked again. The next time I re-logged in, I wasn't put back into the game. Instead, I was able to queue for another game. My character was still playing on my partner's screen in that game I was no longer a part of and I have already gone on and started another game. So really, last night, at one point my character was playing two different games.

lol okay thats kind of funny no offense ^^ i mean 6Gb Ram and Intel Core 2Quad and GTX 650 ti are not that good :D and i had never a Crash :O okay suprisely my Pc can run Witcher on medium with stable 45-50 but hey xD its a toaster

I have GeForce 210 which is not even considered as a graphic card for sone people.

200h of playtime and i had not once a crash and my PC is everything but good.

...but sometimes, a player needs forever to load up his game. If this happens, for some reason the other players get kicked out of the game to the login screen. Just have to relog, but it is getting anoying...

Anyways, hope you guys will get your problem fixed.

Your PC specs dont necessarily contribute to the issue, its more than likely network connectivity. Stop being so narrow minded

Same Happens to me, And is so Annoying when that happenss in Comp, those days , i left the game and go to play tf2, I don't wanna play the game anymore til the next day.

That is certainly not smart, people do intentionally not accept matches(idk why) but if you remove that penalty then youll have quite a bit more of them. Plus this game has never crashed on me before, are you certain its not your specs?
