Well.. it is not a bad idea to be several players on the pouint, as if one dies, the caping does not stop..
But having everyone on the cap might not be a good idea, since there are team killing skills..
Well, usually when there are more bodies on the point, it becomes much easier to defend. Trying to hold a point as a support while your tank, damage, flank, your mother, the kitchen sink, and my grandmother are all off trying to flank. This only results in me getting killed, and then everyone else dying one by one... only resulting in the GG moments when the team decides to face-roll one by one into the enemy that is amassed.
This. Though there are downsides to everyone being on the point, I have found having more people on or near it signifinatly increases the chance of winning. Not only that but when your team is grouped up it becomes a lot harder for the enemy flanks to get kills since they are better at 1v1 fights
