Mortal Reach (Seris)
I really enjoy playing as Seris, but there is one thing that makes me not to play her: "professionals" that scream at me to pick Mortal Reach and that keep saying: "he dmg series report for dmg" every time they die on the other side of the map because they don't know what does "RETREAT!!!" mean.

I know that if a current map is very big it might be beneficial, but having a stun every 6 seconds or having more HP that Barik + higher DPS is just better.

if you pick a support, and there is no other support, then you should focus on actual healing, not doing damage

Don't bother with people who threaten report on nonsense. '

While I think for bigger maps I agree that Mortal Reach is better, I have to say ♥♥♥♥ the people who do that whinning.
I play Seris quite a lot and I find Agony helps your team a lot more than Mortal Reach. But it truly depends on your play-style. Support champs are not heal-bots, they offer support in terms of damage too. The more damage you output, the faster your ult charges which again, helps the team quite a lot.

Of course you shouldn't take a damage build as a support when your team desperately needs a dedicated healer, but teams that undermine your skills for healing talents are usually the ones that fail to protect you even when you take a support talent.

Tanky Seris can be good too

You did nothing wrong, most players would also flame you even if you have the heal talent and you could not heal them in a 1 vs 5 were they expect a pentakill.

They think you are their personel healbot and irrational hate you if you pick a talent for self defense or dps.

It mostly depends on the map. Timber mill and Stone keep are perfect for mortal reach, while tight ones like all onslaught maps and serpent beach can be better off with other talents

Map doesn't matter in my opinion.

Mortal reach allows you to keep distance, that allows healer to be in a safe place and out of the sight. It doesn't save you from flank harassment, but even there you can launch healing and then hide in some building etc.
Being far away let's you avoid serious aoe damage and exposure to ults, focused on point/payload or just grouped tanks.

Also being far away gives you ability to see more- see counterattack and warn team, notice flanks that are coming to get you nd most important for me- put better suppressive fire, because you see all doors, bridges and chopoint, and constantly shooting them (between healing) prevent champ like Kinessa, Sha Lin, Viktor from just standind there and dumping damage on your team.

Be smart. Pick up Mortal Reach.

People often forget that Mortal Reach doesn't just increase the range substantially, but it also increases the duration of the heal by 1 second. Not only is this a huge boost in healing output (and the only way to do so with Soul Forge), it also gives people more time to react and get out of cauterize if for some reason they couldn't in the first 1.5 seconds. In most cases, this boost alone is good enough to take the talent.

The range boost is helpful for most maps, and is necessary for others like Timber Mill or Fish Market. It does enable you to heal everyone on your team, which can give a big advantage to your flanks and damages.

You should always build for healing on Seris if you are the only support. This is because Seris "damage" builds are weak compared to other support damage builds, such as Grohk, Pip, and even stun Mal Damba. If you do want to be more aggressive as a support, you should pick these champions instead as they offer more damage and often times more CC than a Seris damage build.

Agony is good if you constantly have flanks diving on you, as it shuts them down hard. Soul collector just helps you survive longer when you get the stacks so you can escape a push. But mortal reach is best for heals, not only does it increase that range, but it also makes the heal itself last an extra second.

Mortal reach isn't too much about the reach but more so for that 1 extra second of healing. Many times when I heal with mortal reach where people would've died, they survive and with more healing, as caut has a chance to wear off.

There is one downside tho- sometimes I'm so far away that target dies before healing ray can even reach him... But in most of the situations like that my healing output, even without any caut countering it, is too low when target is attacked by 2-3 enemies.
