Skipping ranks--how does it work?
Super frustrated! I was Diamond III and was on, like, an 18 game winning streak all the way from Diamond IV. I have 96 TP at Diamond III, lose ONE GAME, then win the next two. Game puts me at Diamond II. How am I not Diamond I after that ridiculous winning streak? Can someone please explain to me how skipping ranks works, because one loss should not jeopardize a rank skip at this level. Thanks!

I think the paladins ranking system is going by your character elo and your skill rank.
http://forums.paladins.com/showthread.php?43020-How-does-ELO-OVERVIEW-work-in-Paladins
I"m not sure of how you can view your character stats and match them with ranked.

Lets say if you don't play Khan much in ranked, you pick him and it will go against players skilled or higher skilled than you and your character.
You win a match with your Khan, you look at the objective time you were on, how much shielding and eliminations you get.

If you win 2 or more it will increase your tdp over time, if you suck at khan and you lose 2 rounds in the same night....
It'll dip back down sharply especially if you are paired against players equal to you or better or weaker.
(Bronze 1 vs diamon 1)
"yes it does happen from time to time, it did that in the last 2 past seasons".
If the ranked que system thinks you can beat someone, you will get stacked against them.
If your performance is great and you lose a match, you won't lose much tdp or suffer much.
If you're performance really does that mission, you will take a big fall for it soon.
Its a jacked up ranking system, or should I say ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ranking system developed by programmers.

id say it goes by mvp, and mvp role. Tanks that excell in cap time, land MVP replay or MVP role slot, etc, seem to get way larger rank ups then flanktanks. Same as when i main my flank and absolutely roll face on last shots/solo kills, i go up a few divisions. If i play dps ruckus etc it doesnt seem to get the same boost despite topping dps charts etc.

My best guess is, a division of your MVPs, MVR (most valuable in role, i dont know what paladins uses i forget) etc all gives "personal" performance boosts to your division skipping.

If your up in diamond i wouldnt expect just wins to flop out a whole division, Your getting up in the top of the top, and I cant see them handing them out to anyone not grinding it or doing exceptionally well vs the enemy ingame (taking all MVR's and MVP from them etc)
I don't think any of the above are correct. I believe Paladins has a hidden elo asssigned to you that is never reset. When that all is at odds with your rank you will see increased tp gains and decreased tp losses. Once you rank up the system reassess your position and how far it can jump you etc.

There is no official way to view this but guru's ladder has always been quite accurate in my experience.

you have to perform acceptionally , like maybe you get 40 kills and everyon eelse has 20 or less.
really hard carry like from a flank or tank or dps... some rare ocassions ying

ive done this twice most likelyo n skye

Most ranked based games will use an ELO and from what I understand this game does as well.

Paladins.guru's system is pretty close I don't know the exact amounts of elo's per division but it gives you a rough idea. Diamond 5 is around 18-1900 elo.

If you're elo is higher than the next tier you jump it. Elo and TP are seperate. You might lose 6 elo and 11 tp but gain 28 Elo and only 9 TP in the next game.

Let's say you're D3 now, and let's say it's 2k-2100 elo for D3, and you have 2350, you will skip D2 and go to D1. but if you anything under 2300 you'll be D2.

So granted you might have won 18 games in a row, but if you're only gaining ~5-10 elo/game then you don't have enough to skip the division, especially if you started that 18 game winstreak from a small streak of losses.

That is a very verbose statement of what I said.
