Linking current steam account to a Hi-Rez Account

So ive tried to link my current paladins account that was made when i started to play on steam to a Hi-Rez account through their website but everytime i link my account it tries to force me to start over. It has me enter a new name and starts at a level 0 account, has anyone had this same issue and have the solved it?

Do you able to enter your account credentials after steam launch? I mean last time they were linking steam account every time you connect to HiRez account automatically. The only challenge was to get to credentials input screen with change account in exit menu of the game. Idk if something changed.

i dont have hi rez account, only the steam one but want to link it with hi rez acc without starting all over again

no im not able to enter anything after steam launches the game, just logs me right in.

Maybe your account is linked to another Steam account, try to check your e-mail for that

Have you gone to the hi-rez account. Unlink your steam account from any hi-rez account and then go to the hi-rez account you want and link it there?

Try to e-mail the Hi-rez support, they anwsered me the solution for my problem on a day or so, and they were really nice about it, explaining why did it happened, and how to fix it, they probably would help you as well

I unlinked and then got my Steam account back.

In the same boat. When I emailed support, all they did was link me to the FAQs about crossplay. Not very helpful.
