Because HiRez confirmed that Fernando is "gay".
Looking forward to the next installment. "Maeve is a furry who yiffs with Strix" or something. Should be good.
> Especially with his voicelines of him trying to hit on multiple women and especially Cassie
YEAH because all through history gays have always acted like a stereotypical gay. Because many gays don't get married due to social pressure or to avoid being outcasted by their own family.
Truck drivers, your favorite conservative politician, your favorite football player, your math teacher, any person could be gay, gays don't share all the same unidimensional personality, the fact that you are just expecting a stereotype and complaining about the fact that he isn't obvious is the actual problem here.
Why should things be always obvious and in-your-face, is this a video game for 13+ yo's or a Discovery Kids show for 5yo's? Doesn't it make things more interesting the fact of it not being obvious?
You know, being homophobic is not like a switch, everything comes in degrees, there is not just "want to lynch all gays" and then "I love gays and I wish 120% of the people on the planet was gay".
The core reason as to why you all think it doesn't make sense, is exactly the reason why it actually makes sense, this just shows the fact that you don't really know many gay people and you are actually just expecting a meme of a character.
This is a bad argument, you're trying to compare real life situations that some gays had to struggle with to a video-game character. Borderlands 2 had a character call Sir Hammer lock and they implemented him being gay in the right way. Many people thought he was straight because of his dapper and gentlemanly personality but never mentioned his sexuality until there was a mission we had to do for him where his first line he casually says "an old boyfriend of mine..." which revealed that he was gay yet nobody didn't mind or made a complaint about it because he never showed his sexual preference until later on. Fernando on the other hand was pretty much straight to begin with and made it obvious because he wanted all the ladies he felt attracted to but now HiRez announced that he is gay. The fact that Fernando being gay was presented as newsworthy by HiRez just shows that they are trying too hard to appeal to the LGBT community when it was just not necessary. It would have made more sense if Koga the upcoming champion to be gay since he is a new character we know nothing about.
