Eh maybe I am just a bad Viktor or something. I will admit though I do have over 100 hours as him so far.
Matchmaking matches 2-4 newbies with 1-2 players who knows the game. Because of all this newbies I was calibrated for Silver 2, I was Platinum 1 in 1st season. So yeah, everything have a reason, even toxicity.
1st season was much more balanced and had way less toxicity because matchmaking worked more or less fair and didn't match newbies with around 50hrs with veterans who have >250hrs.
Agreed.
Remember, these same players having reguarly been dealing with "I know what I'm doing" poor, random players. Who is surprised when it's yet another, potentially "I know what I'm doing" lvl 6 Viktor, saying he'll flank.
Yes, YOU might be quite good and do what you'll say you do. But how many times had those players (and the rest of us) been completley burnt, dumbfounded and frustated when someone says they'll do X and they end up doing virtually nothing. Or having to be carried and then they complain its due to A, B or C. Never them.
Viktor with Cardio isnt bad whatsoever, just use him right.
I'm not defending their behaviour or their comments, but I'm trying to present a more balanced view of WHY people may have their concerns or be frustrated enough to want to vent the way the did. So, rather than just treat others as being nasty/toxic/salty for no reason, why not consider why they feel that way and help to clear the air. I expect it's probably likely that some of the aggro in relation to this situation was also the way the OP presented his choice, not just the choice itself.
Everyone needs to balance how they present themselves in the game with all the random anonymous players, along with how they react to others choices/statements. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone elses choices and stating why thats the case, however often peoples first comment is a retort like "noob" or "clueless moron, gg now".
If somebody comes to library and start noisy phone chatting, this person is insulting everyone who came to read and study. Same thing for ranked games - if you ignore your team, you insult them. So why they have to respect you? Yeah, I saw that screenshot with winstreak, gg, but you will understand why Vik is bad for comp. Maybe you still will be good with him, but most players don't.
Perhaps you need to check your attitude.
1. You are with FPS games from the beginning. Since viktor relies heavily on aiming, it's only natural that you can kill easily.
2. Matchmaking is going easy on you. You ACTUALLY got matched with people of similar account lv or skill lv, with (maybe) worst aiming than you. Since account lv is not presented when you got matched, you will never know.
If number 2 is the case, well, not everyone is lucky. Some of us (basically most of us, maybe) got matched with newbies who "know what they are doing" almost all the time, since the matchmaking in this game sucks balls.
Viktor is "despised" because other damage champions can easily out damage him. If you are good with certain champion, go ahead and pick them. But, do consider other people opinion.
As for the salty part, frustration got over them, since, you know, how bad the matchmaking this game has.
There is nothing wrong with my attitude. I explained you why this is happening, I even gave an example how your actions looks like for your teammates. I just hope you will understand this with time.
