Salt in Ranked
Why is it so salty in Ranked. Attacking your own teammated cause they choose a champ that you dont like.

Choosing Viktor with Cardio was a trigger point for a lot of players in my team because of the legendary, then attacking me cause of my rank (Then Silver 1), Account level (lv 26), Champion level (Viktor lv 6).

Amusingly enough, playing my way (which is Flanker Viktor) shuts them up cause of the hard carry. *shrug* Though thanks to the tank keeping my idiot teammates alive.

I thought everyone would be upset if you picked Viktor in competitive mode. While Viktor is simple to play as so many other Damage champions are so much better in the long run.

Viktor's simple kit has its advantages if you ignore the fact that he is a damage champ. Flank Viktor is a way better option as he has his damage, his speed and his own sustain with Cardio. The faster you can recover Viktor's health allows him to go right back into the enemy's backline.

That is true. But normally any other Damage champ can out do him though. Same for flanks a lot of times.

Eh maybe I am just a bad Viktor or something. I will admit though I do have over 100 hours as him so far.

A guy once trollpicked Skye, because I picked Grohk against heavy CC enemy team and he didn't like that.

Because this days ranked is full of newbies who don't know the game at all, who ignores counterpicks and never ban op champions. Who never picks for the team, who ignoring champion request and thinks that ranked is a some kind of private playground.
Matchmaking matches 2-4 newbies with 1-2 players who knows the game. Because of all this newbies I was calibrated for Silver 2, I was Platinum 1 in 1st season. So yeah, everything have a reason, even toxicity.
1st season was much more balanced and had way less toxicity because matchmaking worked more or less fair and didn't match newbies with around 50hrs with veterans who have >250hrs.

Disgusting. I'm 100% against doing such things. Unless you know your team is bad at the game you should never pick a champion like viktor in comp, nor should you pick that talent. I despise seeing my teammates worried and angry when a player having all the signs of being a "noob" goes viktor, or any other champ most decent-smart players know not to have in their team.

Agreed.

Remember, these same players having reguarly been dealing with "I know what I'm doing" poor, random players. Who is surprised when it's yet another, potentially "I know what I'm doing" lvl 6 Viktor, saying he'll flank.

Yes, YOU might be quite good and do what you'll say you do. But how many times had those players (and the rest of us) been completley burnt, dumbfounded and frustated when someone says they'll do X and they end up doing virtually nothing. Or having to be carried and then they complain its due to A, B or C. Never them.

That doesn't give you or others an excuse to insult and belittle people over their choices and skill. Stuff happens that are out of the player's control. Particularly when people are just better.

Viktor with Cardio isnt bad whatsoever, just use him right.

I'm not defending their behaviour or their comments, but I'm trying to present a more balanced view of WHY people may have their concerns or be frustrated enough to want to vent the way the did. So, rather than just treat others as being nasty/toxic/salty for no reason, why not consider why they feel that way and help to clear the air. I expect it's probably likely that some of the aggro in relation to this situation was also the way the OP presented his choice, not just the choice itself.

Everyone needs to balance how they present themselves in the game with all the random anonymous players, along with how they react to others choices/statements. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone elses choices and stating why thats the case, however often peoples first comment is a retort like "noob" or "clueless moron, gg now".

This is about stereotypes though. The common stereotype in this case is players that are assumed to have low skill and experience, go viktor, skye and/or sometimes pip in comp do horrible. With that in mind, it's kinda impossible to blame people for being worried/angry when a player just does this. If you truly are skilled with viktor, then this is a quite rare, seeing as most other teams with a viktor on their team end up losing due to that player.

When people join RANKED game and don't play for team, they insulting every player in a team who plays this mode for highly team-based experience, who plays for win. If someone don't know the game he should play casual, not ranked. Because ranked is not for training, build testing, learning a champion, playing for yourself, etc.

If somebody comes to library and start noisy phone chatting, this person is insulting everyone who came to read and study. Same thing for ranked games - if you ignore your team, you insult them. So why they have to respect you? Yeah, I saw that screenshot with winstreak, gg, but you will understand why Vik is bad for comp. Maybe you still will be good with him, but most players don't.

I just checked your profile at paladins.guru and I see you are a newbie. You don't know the game at all, you don't know champions, you don't know counterpicks, you don't know who is good and who is bad in different roles. But you playing ranked... What else do I have to say? I'm sure you ignore everyone in your team because you think you know better. Thats why people are toxic to you. Play casual, learn the game, try every champion with every legendary to know them, find your mains for every role, after that go play ranked.

A lot of assumptions coming from you. I don't act high and mighty as you seem to characterize me as, I only tell my team of what champs I can/could play well and if you think about champions, some are not bound by their type. Also, Counters only matter for so much. As you see, killing healers stops healing and possible CC, killing damage stops hard damage, killing their flank saves your crucial teammates. I know there are champs that could do better but it proves that someone like viktor are not bound by the meta.
Perhaps you need to check your attitude.
Simbah Apr 2, 2018 @ 8:56am
Based on your account lv and the fact that you won many games with viktor, i'm going to asume two things:

1. You are with FPS games from the beginning. Since viktor relies heavily on aiming, it's only natural that you can kill easily.

2. Matchmaking is going easy on you. You ACTUALLY got matched with people of similar account lv or skill lv, with (maybe) worst aiming than you. Since account lv is not presented when you got matched, you will never know.

If number 2 is the case, well, not everyone is lucky. Some of us (basically most of us, maybe) got matched with newbies who "know what they are doing" almost all the time, since the matchmaking in this game sucks balls.

Viktor is "despised" because other damage champions can easily out damage him. If you are good with certain champion, go ahead and pick them. But, do consider other people opinion.

As for the salty part, frustration got over them, since, you know, how bad the matchmaking this game has.

There is nothing wrong with my attitude. I explained you why this is happening, I even gave an example how your actions looks like for your teammates. I just hope you will understand this with time.
