Isnt the F2P model scummy?

I playing the game just two days so I know very little about it but as far as I know so far it seems to be impossible to unlock anything as a free player. I dont even care much about skins but it seems to to impossible to unlock anything basically. Everything seems to need crystals which I dont have a single one(real money only?). So basically the in game currency is worthless?
I get it that a F2P game needs to make money somehow and I dont demand or need to be able to have everythjing as a free player but it should be at least possible to unlock a couple of characters or skins as a free player. Otherwise its scummmy IMHO, basically a demo holding all content behind a paywall. Thats not the model of a good F2p.
Someone please explain. Am I overlooking something?

You get 50 crystals with the daily reward every week, you can buy some nice skins if you save a month or two. The game will also give you some gold chests for completing various events or the battle pass.

you can get crystal on daily login btw...
you still can get skin by using gold but for recolour skin only

You should be able to unlock all the characters given time, they can be bought with either crystals OR gold.
As for skins, well ... most do require crystals, so if you want a specific one, you're out of luck as a free player. But seeing as skins are just cosmetic I feel that's not a huge problem - you can play the game just fine without them.

Well, I'm a free player. 27 out of 36 characters unlocked. 60+ hours into game.

You get 50 crystals per week (therefore 4-6 weeks to unlock a character with crystals) and you get gold for daily quests and completing matches (roughly around 3-5 weeks to unlock a character with gold - faster if you go ham on that "find match" button).

Works fine by me.

Some time ago u get every day crystals on completing all Quests and for daily login.....
Since Hi-rez gets more russian moneyleechers they delete more unlocked stuff from players, and u need real money to unlock EVERYTHING....only Champions and there levels are based on Gold currency.....or u buy like all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots for 40 € dlc stuff to upgrade this ♥♥♥♥ to fullprice-customer-thiefery with p2w stuff....if u thing this is a F2P Balanced Game....well ur wrong here.........

Compared to some other f2p models (namely TF2) this is honestly a good free to play model. It may be hard to get things like skins, but its far from impossible

As stated by everyone else
The ingame currency can be played by playing more often
-gold : you get it after match, lvl up,if youre already veteran theyre too many
-crystal : can get up to 50 crystal per week (if consecutive login), beware the daily login may reset

This is completly free2play and there's nothing scummy in the game.But voicepacks can't be bought with golds and requires 200 crystals.So it will take time to unlock voicepacks for new players.

But gameplay related things are completely free.

The only scummy thing is how you need to pay just to hear your champion's voice. Other than that, the 50 crystal per week is pretty alright and i'm gonna be able to buy the battle pass with it.

Ikr, i understand if they monetize more to cosmetic items(visual) things like skin a little bit harder to get or even little pricier

But to take voice pack, that have been ALREADY can be gotten free long ago to monetized making a newer player can hear the character of the spesific champion that play

The thing is veteran player (many) of them will not bothered about that (having a load of voice pack by purchasing via gold), but newer player...

I only know a little game that monetize their voice pack

This is an excellent F2P model. There's no pay 2 win and you can unlock everything with play time. Stop being a cheap piece of ♥♥♥♥.
