Alright, but it's not explaining anything whatsoever. We'll get dx 12? :) Ati or nvidia.

I prefer not to touch if it's not broken.

It's quite possible to use dx11 right now. 12 much better but i don't think that we'll get it for current engine.

Dx11 is enabled yet still no ult visuals. Sigh.

And it just so happens that my laptop uses Radeon...

updating your drivers is a good idea, even if everything works now, because old drivers can cause stability issues and crap like that. most things in life, if it aint broke, dont fix it, but with computers, the complexity means that such a simplistic viewpoint is almost entirely irrelevant. this isnt 1992 when driver compatibility between other devices was unreliable, back then it was best to leave it if it worked. this is 2019 where compatibility is all about being up to date. hardware manufacturers have the internet too, they know what other companies are doing, they figured this out a long time ago. stability, performance, silent updates, connection speeds, you may not know what thousand tiny things are kind of broke even though the system overall is running decently enough, it could be better. if you arent sure about updating your drivers, this is what I do, not my fault if it doesnt work for you or something bad happens, especially since it is the recommended method.

if you use radeon, go to amd dot com slash support. this will take you to the device selection screen. enter your device and look for the latest drivers. make sure you select the proper operating system. make sure you do a clean install, which takes longer but assures better stability. I do a custom clean install and I never install the radeon settings program because its always caused problems for me. I've had 4 different brands of graphics card and always use MSI afterburner.

if you dont know your graphics card/IGPU version, windows 10 should let you open device manager by right-clicking the start menu and then selecting devicce manager. then click the display adapter icon and that should show you your device name to enter into the AMD website. the latest driver version usually says optional, meaning it may be less stable then the previous, but shouldnt do any harm if it doesnt work for your specific configuration. if it works, great, if not then go to the next version down. a clean installation wqill require rebooting but the whole thing shouldnt take more than half an hour.

you do not want to download the wrong drivers, double check your graphics card and windows versions before downloading and installing drivers. nvidia is pretty much the same but the website may autodetect your system and card versions, double check anyway. dont be scared, just dont do it wrong, dont be distracted and dont rush.

When I'm interested to play with drivers, i use driver sweeper 3.2.0. Widows 10. I prefer to avoid ddu because in the past it was strange issues with windows player. Maybe it's fine now, but i don't want to experiment.
Installing display driver only, more or less manual installation.

Probably it has nothing to do with driver update, just setting because I can't see the ult if particle detail is set to low, changing it to medium or higher makes the ult visible.
