And it just so happens that my laptop uses Radeon...
im using Radeon too but I cant join game after upgrade...
if you use radeon, go to amd dot com slash support. this will take you to the device selection screen. enter your device and look for the latest drivers. make sure you select the proper operating system. make sure you do a clean install, which takes longer but assures better stability. I do a custom clean install and I never install the radeon settings program because its always caused problems for me. I've had 4 different brands of graphics card and always use MSI afterburner.
if you dont know your graphics card/IGPU version, windows 10 should let you open device manager by right-clicking the start menu and then selecting devicce manager. then click the display adapter icon and that should show you your device name to enter into the AMD website. the latest driver version usually says optional, meaning it may be less stable then the previous, but shouldnt do any harm if it doesnt work for your specific configuration. if it works, great, if not then go to the next version down. a clean installation wqill require rebooting but the whole thing shouldnt take more than half an hour.
you do not want to download the wrong drivers, double check your graphics card and windows versions before downloading and installing drivers. nvidia is pretty much the same but the website may autodetect your system and card versions, double check anyway. dont be scared, just dont do it wrong, dont be distracted and dont rush.
But nice tutorial above me.
Installing display driver only, more or less manual installation.
