Most games that have that system is somehow considered "expensive" to some people. Do you think you can change a name anytime you want at a price you consider cheap? If you didn't like the first ign you used, then that's too bad. You should have picked something you know you will be happy with. Changing names too often causes confusion for everyone, it's like discord for an example: one particular sever I'm in, this person changes his name like 20 times already and that causes confusion. And, Hirez needs money, just like any other game company out there. We all need money.

1. It's ignorant to say that something should be formatted in a such as way that conveniences you, despite other potential issues listed by sanxsor. These issues are mostly about trolls, people not knowing who someone on their friends list is, stopping people acting like others, etc.

2. If you are truly adament about changing your name, you may make a new account. What about your loss of process? Well... pay the cost, then.

3. It was said that the price is a cost grab, NOT that they needed money. That being said, the having of payed services does not mean that they do not need money. Every game studio needs money, some indie studios such as Hi-Rez Studios being an example of one who needs more, as they are growing. With growth comes more cost than the cost of maintenance. Until they get to a static standard that they wish to keep, they will have to be able to fund their growth.

4. If you truly feel the need to dispute these points and insist upon ignoring the fact that the cons outweigh the pros, then I have no further need to attempt to talk sense into you.

First off, the game is free and some people that play it don't pay a dime. As such, they have to utilize cash-grabs so that the people that do buy cosmetics compensate for those that don't. Secondly, well, they are a company. Whether they need the money or not is out of the question- they want it, and none of what they've done so far is P2W, so it's forgivable.

Also, like others have stated, a constantly changing name can cause some serious confusion. Not only that, but if someone desperately wants to change their name because they named themselves something like "ImmaWeeb69420", well, chances are that the money won't be much of a concern to them.
