Live vs. PTS
Alright, can someone help me on this matter?
I have both Paladins and Paladins - Public Test installed on Steam. When I started playing Paladins, I created my account via the Live version on PC. I just recently decided to try out the PTS version. But when I'm opening the PTS, it says "Version mismatch" when I try logging in using the same credentials from Live. Does that mean that I can either have the PTS or the original version installed, not both? Or do I have to create a new account for the PTS? It is just very confusing for me.
Thank you in advance.

version mismatch means you haven't updated to the newest patch.

other than that I don't know I don't play PTS

Live and PTS are both run on the same account.
Some of your live memory will be transferred to PTS but when I said "some" I mean some as in I'm currently level 101 on live while my PTS is on level 70s which for that matter, doesn't really matter. PTS is just a test server.

You have to update pts also everytime a new patch releases. If it's your 1st time then patch size will probably be more than 2-3 GB.

When I launch PTS, it says that I have the 0.63.2250 version. Isn't OB63 supposed to launch this Friday Live? I guess I have the correct version for PTS from when I downloaded it. It wouldn't make much sense that I have just downloaded the PTS from Steam, and have it update again?
But if I have to do this (and if my current PTS version isn't the latest), how do I manually download the new PTS version? Isn't Steam automatically letting me know in the Downloads tab if a game that I own requires a new update? That's what happens for the Live version when Hi-Rez launches a new OB.

OB63 is coming to live this Wednesday.

Try verifying integrity game cache I guess.

I usually do that as a last resort. I tried it out now as well, but to no avail. During the start-up menu, where I have to write my username and password, I'm still prompted with "Warning: Version mismatch". I can complete the respective fields with my credentials, but it won't proceed from there. Just stuck at Username and Password.

And just to be clear: when I open the PTS application from steam, I can authenticate using my ACCOUNT credentials. After I press play on the launcher and I'm required to provide my username and password, that's where I'm stuck. I mean I can do that as well and press Login, but I can't go any further than that.

Is it possible that the PTS is now down, due to the fact that it's coming to Live soon?

This is normal. The PTS is always down - one day for patch day - the message with wrong version is normal. This is always one day befor a new patch go live online.

OK, thanks for clarifying!

You can have both versions (live and PTS) installed and you don't have to create a new account for PTS. Most people who play PTS have both versions and play from the same account.

The message "Version mismatch" is normal when the PTS is down. You can only play on the PTS from Friday to Monday/Tuesday (a day before the patch goes live) every two weeks, after a patch preview.

Thank you very much. I now understand the whole deal much better!
