What's with the high number of braindead players?

It's just infuriating when people are int feeding, people isntalocking -FOUR FLANKERS- and then ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at me (The only person with enough of a brain to pick support) that I'm not able to heal them all.

I'm not a mean guy, and I'm not a "well you gotta suck on the meta's ♥♥♥♥♥ or you're not a real player" type of person either. But is it too much to ask that people look at the characters being picked and say "Hey, We could use a support. I'll be a support" or "Oh, we could use a Frontliner, I'll take on that role!"

And then there's trying to find people to play with. I used to run a Discord server but it went south with all of the toxic players and some disagreements on server ownership. Either way, I'd like to find a good NA discord Paladins server. Not a huge one. Those massive 1K+ servers are always just a god awful mess. I'm talking a server that's got maybe 50-100 players tops, yaknow?

If anyone has a "guild" or group on Paladins that's looking for a fairly decent player, let me know. I play a lot of Frontliners and Supports, but can play practically any character fairly well (Aside from Willow. She just freaks me out with her ass-ugly face. D:).

It's just the horrible matchmaking on this game, sometimes you get played with people who just started the game and other times you go against literal esports players.

I think it's just how players view the game as an FPS (shoot to win) instead of a MOBA (predict to win). Just hop into 4k rating competitive, people would still think you're crazy if you could predict enemy movements. Predicting enemies is a huge part in this game, and it is why so many people lose badly or win easily. Not being able to predict enemies can lead to being caught out of position, ulting at the wrong times, and being outplayed in 1 v 1s. However, if you are able to predict enemies, you can give callouts to teammates, use your ultimate correctly, counter enemy play, and outplay the enemies in 1 v 1s.

In my last competitive I was Fernando against a Pip healer. I was able to predict his chicken ultimate, so I used mine and I saved my 3 teammates, winning the match. This is just one example of how viewing the game as a cycle instead of randomness can let you win easier.

Last days i played with lots of braindead players:
1. People who don't want to pick tank when i pick support
2. People who repick tank on last second...
3. DD or flank who making damage less than supports..
4. Supports in my team who made in more than 2 times less heal than enemy...
5. People who don't want to stand on point or near cart and play like deathmatch.

Just make a pause and play other game. You just need to calm down. Try to add players in friendlist who did great job and play with them.

Tell me about it bro i feel your pain.. im a grown ass man and paladins makes me wanna just stand on top of a mountain top under a full moon screaming "GET ON THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ POINT!!" or "PUSH THE CART FFS!!" XD But then i remember its only casual and these kids are prob like 8.. lol They always seem to pick the high cap champions aswell...

^ this is a fair comment but you should just go play against the bots then.. you dont care right? Paladins is a team objective shooter.. most ppl on your team want to win even if it is only casual. Every player has a elo score that they want to raise so the match making stops them being placed with ppl like you and you in turn by not caring are holding them back. Thats why ppl end up getting tilted. Im not being mean i dont just mean you personaly ofc its the matchmaking thats the real issue.

Just get a party and stop whining. We get it, people suck, and Drogoz can ult 4 times in 3 minutes while a tank like Fernando is lucky to get it 5 times in 10 minutes playing defensively.

We need more unique threads. These just depress people to the reality of this game, something we face every session.

Hi-Rez doesn't want to "force" a meta. And if people don't enjoy tanks and suports they shouldn't be forced to play them :)

Personally I don't care if someone flames me, I just mute them and smile at the end of the game because they were just awful, not me.

Ontop of this, this thread isn't about having fun. It's about people who are stupid, and there's a difference here.

Like earlier in COMPETITIVE play, this buck goes out without cards at all. Feeds the enemy team, and his duo buddy starts sucking him off about "Shutup Pixel, he's doing better than you" when all buck was doing was running forward, shooting once or twice and then dying or jumping away, and not even on the point.

He then goes on to pretend to be some high-tier god because "Buck OP" (Even though he only did 10K damage while everyone else was breaking somewhere close to 100K and I had hit 140K as Tyra) and "Why didn't you get play of the game" when it was the ENEMY team that got PoTG with a penta.

If someone is new to the game, or new to shooters, that's fine. I don't have an issue with that. I'll go out of my way to HELP people like that.

It's when someone acts like they're god because they won a few rounds in vs AI when they have a support jammed up their ass healing them 24/7 (To the detrement of the team) and then think "Yeah, I'm good enough to play comp with no cards and not even touch the point. GGEZ" and then ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan and report because they didn't win.

I get that the game is free to play so it's going to have an influx of garbage compared to other games, but it's still nonsense and reporting them doesn't seem to get them away from your Que ups.

Oh and one last thing about the "What if your idea of fun is to keep someone else from having fun"...Since when does your "fun" time override other peoples? If someone wants to take the game seriously, that's their choice. If you want to be a troll, go do it in game modes where it doesn't matter, like AI or customs.

But keep your troll garbage attitude out of ranked, please?

See, that would make sense in a game where everyone has the same options avaliable to them or can switch, like in Overwatch. But in a game where you are locked into your character selection ,having the RIGHT characters is more important than having good aim, in most cases.

A team with no tank is not taking the point. I don't care if you want to stick your head up your rear and say "Well I know I'm playing good, and my team is just bad" when you yourself refuse to fill the gap left by your team.

If you're the kind of person that instalocks, or says "I'll only play support if my main is taken" or some garbage like that, then yeah, you're just as bad as people who crash rooms or play all flankers. It's a destructive mindset.

Hirez isn't "Forcing" a meta, but the game itself does. EVERY game has a Meta, and Paladins has it's meta fairly well cut out for it.

You need damage characters to control areas and do damage, you need a flanker to pick off enemies and generally cause chaos in the back lines, you need frontliners to hold the point and shield allies when they're healing, and you need supports so that you can keep that all up. Take away one of those classes and the entire game falls apart.

Sure, you MIGHT squeeze through a game with no flanker or maybe even no frontliner, but your other characters have to cover for that. Your support would need to be tanky, like Grover. or your damage characters would have to be able to secure kills and move quickly to keep the enemy guessing.

Everyone has a part to play, and by saying "I'll only play what I want to play", you're giving up on your teammates, you're giving up on the game, and you're saying that you don't care about playing the game. At that point, you're just as bad as the people who you call "Awful".

There are front liners who do just fine without a support hugging him, you may fill the gap if you really care THAT much about winning. Most people pick supports if you instalock a front liner, at least from what I've seen.

I have to agree though, there is indeed a "meta", but I disagree with your statement. If I perform best out of my team it was clearly not my fault that we've lost. I played with 5 flankers in my team and streamrolled the enemies more times than you think. It's the player who decides the game, meta only matters at the highest level of play, and I bet you are far away from it. (according to Paladins guru my MMR is top 0.7%, everyone is still awful here lol)
