But I can also say that I know that a lot of these are somewhat temp models with new ideas coming to modify them.
In addition they all don't have the Same face not that I can see anyway and when it comes to female diversity steps are being taken for them to be like the males. (Tyra a badass Russian hunter for example)
I agree we could use more diversity but calling them the same isn't fair either.
Overwatch has the same design problem, many games do, for some reason. I guess it's a secret consensus among designers. However, League of Legends for example has been really progressive towards this lately, with stuff like Rek'sai, Illaoi or Kalista.
Not a huge problem for me but they are an eyesore.
Theres no "diversity" in male charcter models unless you mean the inhuman ones they are all buff and in shape (as would be expect of any one doing athletic activites like running around and shooting/fighting)the closest one would be maldamba and thats mostly his clothes.More importantly they are "powerful" which is large part of "attractivness" for men.
We dont need fem roadhog so pepople can complain about how mean it is that they are comical (which is how large male charcters are gen treated or monsterous) nor is it a new idea as large/buff female charcters have been in multi player fps games going back to quake/unreal.
That being said I dont really care one way or the other, if they have a good idea for a charcter more power to them.
Let's compare the female character designs to the male designs.
Male characters :
-A tree
-A tiny goblin piloting a robosuit
-A turtle
-A dracon from Wizardry
-A furry
-An orc
-A talking bomb
-The rest are more or less generic.
None of them look alike except for Viktor and Buck with their facial features. Maybe ?
Female characters :
-Every single one is a human top model and they all have more or less the same face. Some of them have pointy ears.
I mean...
All in all, I really don't care about character models in the game, or in any game. Be it the same, be it diversity, I'll play the game as long as the game is good.
i even have bought a legendary founder's pack on that account
I dont want to have a female pip for the sake of "some supposed equality" when it ends up looking really weird & awful.
We dont know the setting or lore to that extent (even if theres gonna be any)
But so far we have a fantasy setting, so we could expect weird stuff, like one of those half snake girls (cant remember the name of those since I played arx fatalis years ago), we could have "female" robot, we could even get what we all want in the future, a female BUCK (just make her have a beard too pls)
