Ideally you should kill them but flankers are very good at 1v1.So either go back or Group up with your team.
Spot them & retreat earlier,If flankers get too close its mostly game over. Dont stay in same spot for long & expect a flanker to come for you. Reposition regularly incase some one was coming for you. You cannot always react away because Evie,Buck move extremely fast.
Dont try to chase them as they can run away easily. Dont focus too much on them & try to do other things.
Support, Frontliners can survive much better aganinst them so use them if you are having a lot of trouble. Flankers can counter other flankers too.
Thanks man. Appreciate the constructive feedback.
I'll try apply what you've told me. I haven't been playing the game for too long. So it'll come with time but being pointed in the right direction is always a help!
In general, sticking with a teammate is always a good idea since flankers don't have enough health to contantly do damage and take damage. Their first instint is to run away once they're spotted and are low health. Of course you'd get the occasional suicidal flanker who sticks around because he thinks hes a frontline or damage champion and ends up dying.
Try to use a disabler skill like Sha lin's Q for example to stop their movement or disable them in some fashion and just mow them down since they have very little health. They would either stick around and die or runs away to safety. Be careful because they might be a cheeky sod and comes back (with low health) to finish you off so always be on alert.
Yeah I might try learn more heroes that have cc to help me out.
Cheers!
If a flanker wants you real bad, it can be very hard to survive. Dont get frustrated when its an equal trade, you die but your team soon kills that high risk taking flanker. This is common when you play kinessa. I have seen players charge me 1v3, when i am with my team.
Grouped flankers are much harder to deal with. One trick is to have your team flank together so enemy dont find you.
Generally an average skill level flanker would also use the same approach and by learning their behavior you could attempt to anticipate their attack to either confront or avoid a flanker. If the enemy has more than one flankers then its a good idea to stick around because two flankers can do some serious damage to any champion, even a frontline. What they excel at is damage and escape ability but what they lack is health so by sticking around in a large group you can easily overcome any number of flankers.
That's why the two frontline meta is popular because if theres two giant health pool and a healer to support them then any flanking attempt is pretty much not going to work.
Androxus will commonly try to go above you, and close distance. His Nether Step is just going to allow him to dash only forward 3 at a time before a CD is needed. Just don't shoot him if he reversals, get behind cover then strike back once it is over. An Androx needs to be close to land dmg like most flanks and he can be easily disengaged out of the fight.
Evie, you see a trail when she teleports *tells the direction too* and she makes a noise while gliding away. A few bullets she's going to Ice Block, during this time reload and spam down her Ice Block so as soon as she tries to get out. If at least another person tries to help you she will get killed with enough dmg. She has to get close cause of those god awful slow projectiles.
Buck, Cauterize just ♥♥♥♥♥ him over simple and done. Just focus him down with R2 Cauterize he's not going to heal much. He has a chime when he's mid air jumping pretty loud, and his damage is low but consistant. He's more of distraction and don't ignore him for too long.
Skye has stealth abilities, any reveal and Illuminate will stop her in those tracks. I had a Lex get Discovery to counter me as he sat by his team and let them kill me so he can keep his bounty on me. She's all about being close and burst damage from stealth engagements and speed.
Maeve any CC will stop a good Maeve in her tracks. She's obviously going to Pounce any chance she gets and use her Nine Lives to heal up. Not much to say like the other champs but more about dodging.
Lex, is a damage champion in disguise, they added a bit of drop off to his weapon and now he's a flank. He's got the DMG, Mobility, and Abilities of a Damage dealer and is hardly a flanker. Just compare the similarities the only difference is in damage drop off to make him a said "Flank." This guy has no means of getting around like the other flanks, he's only going to slide on the ground. You can easily see a Lex coming if he wants you you'll see a REVEAL on your screen to indicate he's coming for that big sweet juicy bounty. His aimbot can be easily countered by cutting corners and landing a good shot on him. All he has is damage and a 4 second cooldown mobility pretty linear but packs that OP ult and damage.
Hope you realized that all of the flanks have difficulties with tanking, dealing damage at a further range, and require high amounts of mobility. Stick by your team and then their little 1 v 1's will now be a 1 v 5, 1 v 4, 1 v 3, or a 1 v 2. BTW if you're playing Kinessa, just get Suppression and Morale Boost, and Health on Kill. Reduced movement speed on flanks helps a lot, and Morale Boost for Head Hunter is pretty damn strong and 1 shots low HP champs like Evie and Skye. Health on Kill for those assist elims with those supression mines.
Cheers for taking your time to break heroes down for me. Was a good read. I'll keep what you said in mind.
