I was in the middle of a good run, but had to back to run an errand. I was bummed to see when I returned I could only start a new game. Is there quit and save feature in the works?

Was thinking of buying this, but I see from reviews and discussion that it is very hard to win. Without giving me spoilers, is it unlikely to even be able to get a good enough run to win without the holo features and people rescuing your lost cards for you and returning them to you, etc.? Don't want to buy it if it is unwinnable without the online features that have now been removed....
