Multiplayer 2022 guide + Working Gamesave + DLC + GFWL files

I'm using the non-steam version FYI.
I've uploaded a JPEG guide to help anyone who might still be wanting to play this with friends using Hamachi for LAN COOP.

I needed to connect up 4 different computers and get them working in different places through Hamachi, it's been one massive headache that's taken up a lot of my time but I've got them all connected to each other and working in play now.

Install the GFWL files, with compatibility set to windows 7, also set red river launcher with windows 7 compatibility.

I've noticed people on other threads saying you have to delete "Patch1" folder otherwise you get the SecuRom failed to start application error.
It's not this folder that causes the problem, I looked at the installation logs and when the game was updated from v1.0 to v1.2 it adds the patch1 folder but ALSO overwrites the main redriver.exe and a few more files in the root folder.
Just removing the patch1 folder won't do anything, if the redriver.exe file is still at v1.2 then the game will seemingly not work, so it's the v1.0 exe files that need to be put back.

I've uploaded the files here, so copy and paste these into the root folder and overwrite.

The GFWL route is the only way I could get the multiplayer LAN to work, there is another set of files called xlive.dll and xlive.ini that you place into the main game root directory and it allows the game to work without GFWL, but no matter what I tried I was never able to get different computers to see the other through LAN with this method, the server list was always blank that I gave up in the end and went back to testing with GFWL

Some PC's for some reason don't install a sneaky registry key which overrides which adaptor GFWL will be using in the game, if you just manually set windows 10 to prioritise the Hamachi adaptor, it doesn't actually change anything in game.
Only the reg key will change it, why the registry key installs itself automatically on some computers and not on others I do not know.
It was a nightmare to find but I'm guessing this may have caused people some trouble in not being able to see each others games when searching for LAN, even though they were connected properly through Hamachi.

I've tried searching for a completed game save online but came up short, no one has uploaded their gamer profile with their save file, which is linked to the game profile, that means the game will always see it as corrupted because it's not from the same gamer profile and you will not be able to load it,
so I've included my game save with my GFWL profile, the instructions on were to place the files are in the JPEG attatched, you must delete any other windows live profiles in game beforehand for it to work.

I have been able to paste my one save files across 4 computers now, so it should work fine if you follow the instructions.
I've maxed all classes to level 20 by repeating FTE but I have left the campaign alone, the game fortunately glitched allowing me to use negative points on the progression stats for some reason, so those stats are also maxed.
I will try upload it to other game save sites so at least there will finally be one working one out there.

Any problems beyond this, like unable to join "session is not available" could be related to a firewall blocking the connections, you could try going to Control Panel > System and security > windows defender firewall > advance settings > Action > Properties > Protected network connections, then unticking the Hamachi box on these profiles.

Check personal firewalls like TinyWall or ESET etc.

Try pinging the other computer through Hamachi to see if the connection might be getting blocked.

I downloaded "one click firewall" which allows you to change firewall rules by right clicking on the .exe files and selecting allow internet access.

if any one needs any further assistance, I've spent enough time troubleshooting this with each PC giving me a different set of problems to solve in getting them to connect, so I could potentially try help.

My first post on steam, I've only bothered to do this to hopefully save someone else the frustration that this put me through.

But it was all worth it to get this game finally working COOP again =D

Hi mate, could you upload the files again, I've been trying for ages to boot this game on my laptop but no luck. It was working on Win 10 but since I've upgraded to Win 11, stopped working.
