Try this.....

Find the the executable app (ArmoredWarfareSteamLoader) it's usually in Steam apps/Common/Armored Warfare.

Now right click and open "properties".

In properties click the "compatibility" tab and then at the bottom click "change high DPI settings".

Check off the boxes "Program DPI" and "High DPI scaling Override", then apply the changes and exit.

Start AW normally.

thanks , but
i installed it without Steam, because with Steam it would make me another savegame
it's in "C:\Games\WishlistGames\Armored Warfare"
and the "Program DPI" and "High DPI scaling Override" are already unchecked

I installed from the game site launcher and checked the High DPI Scaling Override. That cured it for me. It's a scaling issue with the higher resolutions and generally we want desktop icons to be a bit larger.

Also, this box checked was in the desktop shortcut properties.

To be clear here.... You need them checked, not unchecked.

Huh, that's interesting, I am not seeing these options anywhere in my desktop shortcut properties. I had to go to the executable in C:\......Steam apps/Common/Armored Warfare.

Right click Desktop Icon/Properties/Compatibility tab/Change High DPI Settings/High DPI Scaling Override-check this box. Apply and close out.

thanks , it works

however it also causes small issues :
- MSI Afterburner on-screen display doesn't show anymore , you gotta restart the program
( also uncheck High DPI Scaling Override )
- some games reset to minimum resolution , till you start them again

not complaining , but may not worth for other readers who have the same problem with ... ANY video game

It was frustrating because I thought I was overlooking a setting in the games options menu, which caused some angst realizing that was not an option. So I began playing with the scaling option. Just throwing out some options for some that don't want to change their resolution every-time after playing.

No doubt this is why those options aren't available via my desktop shortcut.
