Absolutely that map is really bad, confusing pathway, annoying bot spawn point, and pretty much impossible with rando, and most of the time i am failing in that map because confusing pathway leading to running out of time
I think the low tier maps absolutely more fun from the higher tier maps.
For exemple: the one with mines \ pit, that can we able to destroy all mines without enemy sight nearby it and go to the capture zone to win later, but everyone like pew pew pew pew tanks that slow them down to avoid a win.
The mine pits map is unique, that's for sure, but in my experience it rarely comes up in standard or hardcore PvE matches.
I've been playing for about a month now and have several hundreds of matches under my belt, and I have seen the mine pits map come up exactly one time. For me, the same 8 or 10 maps seem to repeat very frequently, like Cavalry, Dire Wolf, Cerebrus, Hydra, and Scorpio, these are a few that come to mind.
The mine pits is also unique in that it's easy to get lost and time will expire without achieving the mission objectives, ie. defeat. There also doesn't seem to be a lot of targets to engage and/or avoid. Part of the fun of the "hornets nest" scenarios is knowing when to seek cover and come out only when you have an opportunity to make your shots count without getting obliterated.
This link of AW maps may be outdated, https://armoredwarfare.gamepedia.com/Map and some of these maps or missions may no longer exist, but there are a number of them I have never seen, for example Umbrella and Albatross, based on the "Ghost Fields" map of an airfield in a low valley.
BTW, I believe the name of your mine pits map is "Highwall", and as far as I can tell there is a single mission associated with it called "Raiding Party".
Yes! ^^
1) Albatross (based on the Ghost Fields map)
2) Erebos (based on the Lost Island map)
3) Perseus and Wild Fire (based on the Narrows map)
4) Tsunami (based on the Port Storm map)
5) Zero Hour (based on the Reactor map)
6) Frostbite (based on the Roughneck map)
I'm assuming that these ops must have been deleted from the PvE map rotation at some point, otherwise they would surely have shown up in the game by now.
the countdown starts when 3 players are connected, and also more people would have a reason to complain when they had to wait minutes for the last one to connect before the countdown even starts, you cant make everyone happy so they chose to please the majority
those maps/missions are still in there to play
the reason you rearely/never see those maps is they are hightier maps only available at tier 7 or higher, and since you said you only play for a month and about 350 battles its likely you didnt play much t7+ (if at all?)
raiding party, ghost hunter, harbinger, starry night and wages of sin are also high tier only maps
there are 3 map sections
- a few normal sized maps for tier 1-6 in standard difficulty
- all normal sized maps for tier 4-6 in hardcore difficulty
- all normal sized maps + bigger maps for tier 7-10 in hardcore difficulty
each map section has a 20 maps/missions rotation with each map available for 6 minutes at a time, and every 2 hours the rotation repeats itself (there also can be duplicate missions each rotation)
the map rotations change every ~12h at around 10/22 [10am/pm] CET
so eg:
if
cavalry is at 12:00 there will be cavalry at 14:00/2pm and 16:00/4pm ...
diremaul at 12:06 = diremaul at 14:06, 16:06... etc
[special operations x4 are a bit different, for now the same 2 missions till the other 2 of this story are released, and they are tier 4-8 hardcore and 9-10 extreme difficutly and the x4 resets every fixed 3 days ( not a personal 3 day cooldown)]
[and then there are the old spec ops wich are only available at weekends friday 16:00/4pm to sunday 19:00/7pm wintertime (fr 17:00/5pm - sun 20:00/8pm summertime) ]
