Updates always take me forever, anyone else spend way too long in the launcher?

Sometimes feel like I spend more time updating and patching than actually playing. Feel like the launcher's got a throttled download speed that isn't effected by personal internet strength. I've installed 60 GB games in shorter time than it's taken to update this game sometimes, I swear...

I too have this challenge. I just start the download and go make a meal, come back and patch, then go make another meal, then come back and actually play a few matches.

I once left my computer on to patch while I slept, and it still wasn't done when I woke back up.

the download of the patch is ok ( but typical slow )
and updating yes that take a really long time especially if your game is installed on a mechanical 7200rpm harddisk.
If i recall correctly one time when i had a 7200rpm harddisk it took like 50 minutes.
If its on an m.2 with 5000/5000 speed then it only take guess 15 minutes ;-)

I had the same issue with the game icarus when it was in stalled ona 7200rpm harddisk. Everytime there is an update it take more than 1 hour to update EVERY time.
It is a bit ironic it is faster to uninstall the game and redownload it than updating it ;-)

I found a little trick that works for me....

If your update is downloading slowly pause it for a moment then restart it, I will often see the download speed pick up rapidly after doing this.

I have no idea why this works for me, but it does, and there's no harm in trying it.

hit pause download when the DL speed drops then start again it will speed the time up.

They just use some damn cheap servers is all. Take too damn long to update.

idk not have issue with download speed just the annoying pause and click play again so continue download normal

I had to redownload my game because of a pc update,something like 64gb @5.7mbs no thanks I deleted and walked.

YEP, I've not been able to play this game for a year now. Bought a new computer that while not the top performer comes close (13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K 3.00 GHz), SS 1Tb Hardrive. Just takes too long to update and when I leave it to update overnight it stops shortly after I walk away.

Just checked the latest update and timed it

Dpwnlpad - 1:37
Unpack and update - 1:40
Configure - 20 seconds (my AV blocks two parts AW benchmark but game runs fine)

straight into playing the game

Go in to the My.Games launcher, click on the gear (settings) icon in the lower left hand corner, and scroll down to the "maximum number of connections" setting. Set this to "no limit". Also make sure your "limit download speed" setting is set to "no limit". See if that helps.

I get this too, takes a few minutes to download then half an hour to update, it's nothing new either, I have played off and on for years and as I recall it has always been like this, I have rage quit and uninstalled.

Down load depends on your internet speed

Unpack and install depends on your system - how much memory is being used by other programs, what else is running in the background, how compressed the data is, how much room on hard disks (swap file etc), type of hard disk (speed, SSD, old spinny disc and the speed of them with their cache), processor etc etc etc

My unpack and installs are quicker than my downloads and the configure for my system even quicker as posted above for a recent patch
