It's only the chest keys, after hitting BUY or Purchase, I get a white screen with a red triangle and red lettering at the top that says "Application error!"
But I was able to buy one of the monthly (Jan 2022) chests, just buying the chest instead of the key.
Their Support wants me to use their game launcher to record a screen video of me showing the error.
Never seen a Support request like that.
This problem happened months ago, but was able to be cleared up rather quickly with less hassle from Support.
Solution for me is, I'll just stop buying the chest keys.
I'm not losing sleep over a problem that isn't me.
Can buy a chest directly, but not a chest key.
Agreed that the corrective action is, just won't buy their chest keys anymore.
No loss to me.
The PC launcher folks in our AW battalion can buy the keys when they try.
Of 6 of us Steam players I'm aware of, none of us can.
The only real upset is when those Iron crates roll back around: they're a good source of dupe gold (tier 6s and higher) for the price,
but without being able to buy the key for US $ 8.50,
we're stuck paying the full price of US $ 17,
and that's not worth a tier 6, only tier 7 or higher.
Funny thing is, before this whole keys thing became their latest craze, the Iron Crates were always US $ 8.50.
I'm wondering if the keys feature now allows the purchase to become part of a blockchain for cryptomining... and Valve/Steam has already shut down games with hidden cryptominers.
So maybe Steam has opted to deliberately block them (purchasing loot crates via keys thru your Steam wallet) on that notion...?
There has always been issues with the Steam version of AW referencing purchases, some credit cards not accepted (particularly US ones for some reason), some purchases take hours longer (sometimes days) when going through Steam, some items not purchasable at all.
If valve/steam believed AW had a single purchase type (the keys) for a game with multiple ways of buying goods and services and that that type went against its terms and conditions it would block the whole game as it has with others, not just a single purchase type (the keys).
I also wrot them, that it is their and not my problem.
I simply will never buy one of those iron chests or commander chests anymore, if they don't resolve that issue.
It's a joke, putting it on the individual players, if their payment provider connection doesn't function.
First I though, it was, because the keys are not in fact for the Game, we have on steam, so I tryed to buy an item for one of the other MY games, which I don't have on steam, but I would have been able to buy it.
So that i snot the issue either.
I just tested.
Now it works, I could buy the key for the iron crater and the nation crates.
So the issue seems to be fixed now.
Thx
Are they working on a solution?
It lasts for a while, it's argued back and forth is it Steam's fault or the My.Com/Mail.Ru store page,
it eventually gets fixed (often at the expense of many of us losing opportunities to buy a container at the key discount),
and then later the issue comes back again some time later.
It's almost always the keys, and just the keys.
Steam DLCs, no problem.
Regular AW Store items, no problem.
But when it comes to the container keys,
rinse-repeat of that white page with the red error triangle.
You'd think once they'd figured out the fix the first time around, that should be the first starting point when more Steam players are here or on Discord saying, "that key problem is back..."
As much as I enjoyed the game,
and admire the international effort behind it,
and the latest "push thru this political mess..." we're all enduring,
it sucks when we lose a container opportunity because this container key error
creeps in again and again.
Hello!
Thank you for contacting us.
We kindly inform you, that payments cleared via Steam are processed by Steam.
Thus, we are unable to provide you with information on the issue.
Please contact Steam Support Service for a more detailed investigation into your issue.
They realy care for their players.....
Now, it's giving an error page that says "PAYMENT ERROR, RETURN TO MARKET...." and several seconds later, returns us to the AW Store (Market) home page.
This HAS to be a Steam thing: I can buy ANYTHING ELSE just fine, EXCEPT the keys.
Steam/Valve owes us some kind of official explanation as to why they are denying the key purchases, but not anything else.
yeah, you checked it out alright.
And i play a nice ping-pong between armored warfare support team and steam support.
