3 player platoon..??

I had a match today with only 2 other players besides me. Tier 6 PvE standard mode.

I think I have heard some people mention the "less than 5" platoon thing here or maybe on Discord, but this is the first time I have ever had it happen to me.

It was kind of fun actually, I was driving a Merkava 2B and I racked up large amounts of damage and spotting, plus 13 kills, and ended up as top dog in my 3 man team. lol

Is this some new feature or just an anomaly..?? The map I was playing on isn't a particularly difficult one, and I usually do quite well on it with a standard 5 man team, but I can see where a 3 man team could be very difficult on some of the maps that have a lot of swarming bots.

Yeah had 2 3player PVEs now, kinda fun though. It actually is more of a challenge now

I think it's just a bug, at least I haven't heard differently. But having the ability to choose a 3, 4, or 5 man team at the beginning of a match might actually be a really nice option.

It will never happen of course, because it might be an actual useful and popular feature, and they are more intent on making stupid and unnecessary changes to the game like closing the Dossiers, and offering overpriced bundles of dubious value in the store. :(

yeah had this too today, we were 3 only 2 of us played 1 tanker was on grey didn't connected i dunno but yep, very funny and weird to see that.

as long as the game can be balanced to 3, is nice thing.

I don't ever play tier 7-10 now since they dropped standard, it just wasn't fun anymore for me personally, so a 3 player team is probably a death wish there, but I think a choice of 3, 4, or 5 players at tier 1-6 would be a good thing, it would give a lot of flexibility for you to choose how much of a challenge you want based on the chosen map and/or difficulty level.

But again, they won't do it.

Might be fun idea for longer term players who know the game - but it will be filled with new random players who think they can manage and leave players cursing random "scrubs" just as they do in PvE matches even when they are winning over 90% of their matches

It's pointless to speculate what may or may not happen with it since it's never going to happen anyway. They'll just keep making idiotic and unnecessary changes to the game like closing the dossiers, among others.

I would love this to be a feature. For any tier, and any difficulty level.

Although, I would probably only play teams of 2-3 with people from my battalion, not with randoms.

Plus, if you can solo, duo maps, you'll get these guys who can showoff and make replays of: I've soloed X map in Y tank.

Although, knowing my battalion, we'll end up making an all Wiesel platoon of 3 and try to do the Plague or War map.

Agreed. Personally I wouldn't mind the randoms all that much since I'm not in a battallion, and the 3 friends I used to regularly team up with all quit playing when they dropped standard mode for tier 7-10.

I too would love for this to be a feature, but alas it won't happen, and all we'll get is more features dropped from the game or changed in such a way to make them useless, and of course overpriced bundles in the store. :-(

All we can hope for is the occasional server hiccup that is completely random and unpredictable, and offers you no choice of map, tier, or difficulty level. Ain't it great...?? lol

What the developers COULD do, is return both difficulty levels to all the tiers,
and make the "easy" one a 3-player-team (platoon or random) and call it Fire Team, then the regular "hardcore" match would be the 5-player missions.

We've all seen matches where 2 or even 3 players on the team are just useless rocks anyway.
