Vol 6. Issues and what we're doing to solve them!
Hi guys!

Akos and the team here, thanks for the engagement and all the topics today!

We have been scouring the threads and getting feedback from you personally as well to iron out the issues you guys are talking about.

What are thoooose?

- Cabinet mode crash - This is the big one. We are doing everything to solve this. We are looking at the cabinet mode options, how that communicates with the ROM and the game itself etc. Super great observations from you guys as well (re the full-screen start), those helped us a lot
- Bumper sounds - This is WEIRD. Why is Theatre of Magic affected but Black Rose isn't? This is a tough nut to crack, and we will probably fix it after the crash. Thanks for the reports on these as well, KimKom - thanks, buddy!
- WMS 6 quieter than other packs - Okay, so this is pretty interesting too. We've seen a few comments on the overall varying sound level of WMS tables, compared to the Zen originals. I'm no expert, but working with 30-year-old soundbites can be a bit challenging. We have done a great deal to clear them up, but they can sometimes trick us into sounding quieter. This is being looked at too.

Anything else you find please report to us!

Akos

ps: I'll leave a picture of our emergency Zoom in the first comment - I wanted an unorthodox way of showing you that we are currently, at this very moment working with the QA team.

Not sure if this is related to what you've stated about Cabinet mode crash or not but, I had the pinball rom just crash on me in the middle of playing One Ball.

I've been playing in cabinet mode just fine though other than that. The client hasn't crashed for me at all.

Excellent, thank you. Gabor (bottom left) read your comment to me aloud so I'm here. this is in our system now.

Also just to chime in regarding the Alphanum display, I believe Snake mentioned it in the other thread, regarding how dark it looks. When I'm playing it appears almost like a black box with some red text, not very appealing to the eyes, like playing on a Casio watch sort of! haha, it could do with the backdrop being a little bit more visible.

I took a screenshot of it and uploaded to imgur here, it doesn't look as bad in the screenshot (so could be my monitor brightness) but it's not the most appealing to look at imo.

Compared here with the actual back glass + display:

Not the most major thing compared to crashing and such but figured I'd share with you anyway :) thanks for the games guys!

For me the issue of brightness is on the cabinet mode DMD, the one I see in game is fine. You can see here clearly the discrepancy in this screenshot that shows both of them (Obviously I've adjusted the color) https://i.imgur.com/KzUXnGM.jpg

Another cabinet mode player. Small bug is that the plunger cam is not disabled in cab mode in the volume 6 tables. In the earlier volumes you kindly dissbled the plunger cams in cab mode. It really spoils the cab experience so if it can be fixed it would be much appreciated. Thanks 👍

Hello, and thank you for looking into this for us all. It looks like I'm experiencing a different issue. The frame rates have dropped in half since the update on my dedicated cabinet. i7 9700k, gpu RTX 2070 4k monitor. Before update it was a solid 59-60 fps, now the ball is ghosting and hard to focus on as I'm registering 22-27 fps. Thank you again for looking into this.

I noticed that I had this issue when the location of my DMD was off screen, but moving the DMD display around so that it was being drawn fixed the issue for me.

Not sure if your issue is related at all, but just thought I'd share.

Here, Vol 6. still does not appear in the DLC's list on the Steam's page store of PFX3 (it just eventually appear in advertisements/ proposals.)

I have a similar issue to what was stated earlier in my cab. Since updating with the new pack, every table plays with horrible stutter and ghosting (all of them). I've attempted to adjust a ton of settings but it hasn't worked. It always played perfectly smooth up until this morning. The dmd is in the right spot, so that didn't fix the issue unfortunately. One thing I noticed was I always had vsync enabled within the program prior to the update. Having it enabled after the update made the whole program run dreadfully slow. I disabled it and the program ran at normal speed again, however the stutter and ghosting remained.
My specs:
i5- 3570
Gtx 970 - running latest driver ( I also tried previous driver)
8 gb ram
Windows 10 64-bit

It saddens me to see people working on bugfixes while it's nearly midnight, when there was so much time to get this right.

I don't mean this in a bad and gloating way, even though I'm not happy with the state of Vol 6.

I just wish that someone else did their job and this thing was not happening right now, with people working at 11am from their homes instead of relaxing with their families, because someone somewhere didn't do their job, like at all. :steel_ball:

The only tables produced this year from Zen, and I cant even buy it? Zens focus has strayed away from pinball, whats started them. Sad.
Tbarn2000 20 out. 2020 às 16:50
Update: if I turn off the dmd completely in cabinet mode, I no longer have the stutter issue by turning vsync back on. It plays smooth like before the update. Only problem is, I no longer have a dmd.

FunHouse Million Plus light show was working completely fine in beta, now it's a mess.

Akos,

Please see the report in the Pinball FX3 topic entitled: "Volume 6 sound issues (iOS but likely Steam as well)" as far as the inconsistent audio on the Volume 6 tables issue goes. Didn't want to post it here as well and be accused of double-posting. It explains the issue on iOS fully which may likely apply to the Steam version as well. Also sent you an email report of the issue from my iOS device.
