No Sound at all in any FX3 PC/Steam game **SOLVED**
Hi all,
I was experiencing this issue. There was nothing wrong with sound in other games or from other sources such as the internet. Sound would not work in any FX3 game or even in the menus when you hear them welcoming you back to the game or sound effects as you flip through the menus. I had tried everything including re-installing the full game from scratch. I eventually looked under the Bug report megathread and eventually found this advice from Matt Beeching to which I have written a step by step process.

Mods can we pin this so others can find this more easily?

Windows 10
Make sure you have closed down the game and have exited Steam
1) Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=8109 select your language and download the DirectX redistributable. It is for games that run older versions of DirectX (Version 9,10,11.) like Pinball FX3
2) You will need to temporarily install the file in a folder which you can later delete. Create a folder and name it DX and remember where this folder is. Double click the downloaded file in step 1 (directx_Jun2010_redist.exe)
3) Agree to the terms and conditions.
4) Select the folder DX which you created in step 2. This will unzip it to the chosen folder.
5) Open the folder DX and find the file DXSETUP.EXE and double click it
6) This will re-install DirectX and solve the issue. You can delete the folder DX as it has now moved those files and put them where they are needed. I kept the re-distributable in case I have issues again, and MS no longer provides the file, but you may delete the file.

I don't have Windows 11 to provide you with a guide but I suspect the methods would be very similar.

In addition if the above does not work Matt had suggested you can delete the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pinball FX3\LocalData and then have Steam repair the files by performing the "Verify Integrity of Game Files" which I didn't have to do but might further help you fix your no sound issues.

BTW I opened a ticket with the makers of Pinball FX and they suggested I check that the volume was "up" in the game menu. I advised them I had, and it was, and suggested they post this method of fixing the sound issues.

Thanks again to Matt and Happy Pinballing!

DirectX Jun 2010 is required and usually installed during first time setup - as suggested in Bug Reports just use the local copy stored in your Steam library. e.g.

C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

The issue possibly arises if a user chooses to skip first time setup, or perhaps transfers existing game libraries to another system - when FX3 is first launched that setup procedure may not be triggered.
