If you are on Twitter, feel free to join me in sending them public tweets for the new FX having Linux support. My recent post I pointed out how Zaccaria and Pro Pinball Ultra managed to support Linux.
I have Zaccaria, but it's horrible now on Linux. There's a lot of graphical artifacts and I get random issues with flippers not responding; it seems to be tied to nudging and using flipper combinations at the same time. I think it is isolated to AMD GPU's; I have an RX5700XT.
I don't use Twitter any more, but a Dev on this Discussion Forum did here our request...will see if I can link it in so you can add your voice to it!
It's a shame that it won't work on Proton/Steam. I'm not sure why Lutris can get it to run and Proton can't. I've heard it has something to do with a DRM/Copyright Protection scheme.

Regarding Zaccaria, I have never tried it on Linux since my cabinet has to have Windows for FX3. I do know that Zaccaria latest update appears to have broken the game but I need to do more investigation on the crashing when a table loads.
Same! It doesn't have to be Native, though that would be better for performance. A lot of development firms will purposely make games unplayable on Linux. I don't see any reason why FX3 couldn't work on Steam. If Lutris can get it working, why can't Steam? Hopefully, whatever caused DXVK to stop working on FX3, using Lutris, is fixed soon. The graphics look horrible on OpenGL, I can't even get a stable 60fps, and the stuttering ruins game play. I was running buttery smooth with DXVK at 240FPS.
Yeah....Chicken & The Egg problem. I hate hearing people say how bad Linux is for Games. This used to be true but, over the last several years, Linux has come a long way. Another thing people seem to ignore is that Wine/Proton is basically translating Windows code into something that Linux can read. Given that, Linux can run Windows progs nearly as fast or faster than a Windows machine, using identical hardware. Granted, there isn't a lot of overhead in doing this, but in gaming every little bit counts. Hopefully, more developers will get on board, and the market share will move accordingly.
