Fun House trap door shot close to impossible. Arcade mode.
I've not played the real table so I don't know, but is the trap door ramp supposed to be near impossible to hit? I can only hit the shot when the ball travels fast around the top loop, and even then it seems totally random whether I get it or not. Even when the ball hovers or is slow on the side flipper it's a miss every time. Is this right? I don't mind hard but the shot seems too hard.

Indeed, that shot was a tricky one on the real table as well...but man is it satisfying when you actually sink it on a second consecutive trap door shot! Just don't let yourself get discouraged; with some practice you'll find yourself making the shot more and more often.

Speaking of which, I need some more practice myself...it's been many years since I've played Funhouse and here in FX3 sometimes that table really does a good job of kicking my butt!

I keep draining the ball right down the middle on that shot, it's certainly not easy, that's for sure.

The shot it supposed to be hard but its doable, I dont think its too hard

It is certainly a difficult shot and I struggle with the timing. What makes it extra complicated is that the speed that the ball drops down varies quite a lot. If you shoot it up the hidden hallway, the ball rolls at a slower speed than if you hit it into Rudy's hideout (i.e. skillshot). You need to keep that into consideration else you won't get your timing right.

This here is my best multiball yet on the table on Classic Arcade physics where I hit the trapdoor a couple of times.

Really good to see. Thanks. Now I know it's not impossible I'll keep practicing.:cuphead:
The ball sometimes clips a lip of the rail right at the base of that top flipper. Causes a lot of inconsistencies trying to hit that shot. Even after going up the middle for the slower set-up.

Here I even have a better multiball. What you will notice, in the context of this discussion, is that it is still a super hard and inconsistent shot to pull off. You just need to stay patient, try and follow a strategy i.e. know where the ball is going to come onto the table and how you are going to reactivate the jackpot again and ride out your luck.

That is very impressive. Great to see. I observed you too have difficulty making the shot when the ball "hangs" over that top flipper. I would have thought it should be easier to make the shot when the ball is slow but it appears not.
