Arcade Controls and Coin Op Compatibility
Greetings everyone! I'm looking around for virtual pinball software for a DIY cabinet that is planned on being put together. Doing this for my place of work and looking to have this in our arcade. I've tried searching the discussions here for an answer, but couldn't find one.

With that said, the hardware is easy to figure out and the graphics will be outsourced. The problem I'm facing is finding a game that clearly can work using traditional controls: buttons for flippers and nudge, plunger, and shooter. Since it is desired to be setup as arcade, it needs to be coin op compatible. Really, for those who don't know, if it simply has a trigger, similar to start buttons on standard arcade machines, I can make that work.

So, if this game, in order to play (not download and install), requires a keyboard/mouse or console controller, then it won't work. If, after loading from bootup, it doesn't have the compatibility to start with the press of a physical button, then it won't work.

Hopefully that is clear enough. That said, is this a game that can use traditional controls and be started using a coin or card swipe? If not but there is another option on Steam that will work, I'd love to know. I'll keep looking, but again, nothing seems obvious for what I'm looking for. For reference, we are considering using a virtual pinball kit from Monster Arcades.

Thanks!

Zen have their own cabs running with card readers (which would probably be a customized version), if you wish to commercially exploit their software you need to contact them. Same would probably go for other software assuming you would like it to be legal for your company. These games are made for home use and would not support card readers and coin mechs out of the box but there is software to make games do what you want, like game launchers/frontends and scripting software combined with an arcade controller pcb.

Suggest looking at these forums, where you have many members with same problems and LOTS of help:
