It's not elegant but it works. I think I've got you beat with my own budget build though.

Haha that is exactly how mine started. I next got the monitor arm because some games my screen was to far away, then I realized I could use it for pinball so I put my keyboard on a TV tray to play standing. That made my wrists hurt so I bought a USB encoder and put it in a box which worked great but was so light I started crushing the box. The I put it in wood.

I'm using an ASUS VG248 now with full swivel and tilt base, works great for pinball, doesn't require mounting.

Sincere kudos to you, I would have never have spent that much time on that.

I also have a pedestal arcade cabinet from www.recroommasters.com (an older model) with a X-Arcade dual tankstick. They also sell flatpack/easy assemble virtual pin cabinets now, I think around $600 but it includes controls, plungers too, if you ever find yourself with some spare cash, it's probably the best quality cabs you can get for the lowest price, unless you're a really good carpenter yourself. I assume that you're a passable carpenter at least. My carpentry stats are zero however.

I like what you did with the half-cab concept although it's too bad that you can't mount the monitor to the cab itself and have the whole thing completely self-contained. I reckon it might be possible if you got the right mounting bracket and assuming the base of the cab is sturdy enough.

I’d love to have a full cabinet with the monitor permanently secured but then I’d have to buy another monitor for other gaming. It’s was more of a cost effective thing this way. I one day plan to build a full cabinet though. That reaction stuff is super nice especially for the cost.

I’m decent at carpentry. If you look at one of my other Youtube call modular gaming set up, I built my own custom gaming rig. Sometimes it’s nice to just pay someone to do the hard work for you though and get all the fun.
