Skyrim and High Scores
I recently started playing Bethesda Pinball, mostly as a curiosity for Skyrim. My only prior experiences with pinball were Space Cadet on old Windows machines, and a little bit of Odama on Gamecube. I find that it is quite a fun experience!

I was wondering about scoring within Skyrim. You have a persistent character with gear, skills, factions, and quest progression maintained between games. Since this is the case, it seems that starting a game at Level 20 on Quest 11 may result in a different score than someone starting at Level 1, even if they somehow played identically. If this is the case, does that lessen the value of the high score board?

Well, presumably, anyone could powerlevel by massproducing iron daggers, so eventually it evens out the field. ;)
But yea, it does make a difference if you haven't played it much. (or so I've heard)

Skyrim is probably the best single player table in Zen's catalogue but probably one of it's weaker ones for tournaments.

I bet they could make a tournament mode for the table that starts each character at Lvl 1 and starts each player on the same mission

Since it sounds like you are new to Pinball FX, if you like the persistent single player of Skyrim, Zen did it once before on a table called Epic Quest.

Skyrim is a better table overall but I think the loot you get in Epic Quest is better and the tables compliment each other pretty well. Skyrim is dark and serious, where Epic Quest is colorful and zany

Gotcha, so the high score really matters more for my own accomplishments, rather than being a perfect metric of who has done better at a particular play session.

I'm actually playing on the Android app, since I had Play Credit! I may start branching out into more pinball though: it's much more interesting than I realized!

Skyrim is a bit of an special case, sort of like back in the days when people installed Doom on everything from toasters to microwave owens. only here it's Skyrim on a pinball table. It's all about the meta-game. Single player game indeed. Cool idea, but perhaps not what people was expecting.
