Never used an F710 but it supports XInput and DirectInput, I would try:
Xinput + Steam Input: Disabled
DirectInput + Steam Input: Enabled
FX3 has native support for XInput so it shouldn't need Steam Input translations, you can enable / disable that feature in FX3 > Properties.
You could also try disabling analog triggers in FX3's control menu, the default control scheme accepts inputs from shoulder triggers and buttons. If that resolves the issue there could be unintended inputs on those triggers.
Thank you kindly for the prompt reply! I will try your suggestions, but I'm afraid I'm kind of a geezer and not particularly tech-savvy. When you say I can enable/disable the feature in "FX3 > Properties", are you referring to something I should do in Steam or in Windows? Pardon my ignorance.
Right click Pinball FX3 in your Steam Library and select Properties. Select Controller and you should find this override for Steam Input. Default / Enable / Disable.

According to the F710 manual the slide switch should be set to X(1) to enable Xinput mode.

Thank you so kindly; I will try these suggestions.
On Noir, the top left flipper retracts when multiball starts. See https://youtu.be/EbN3GWhbBLA
I think I have reported this exact bug a long time ago, at least experienced it, but it's disappointing that it still exists.
Noir is a PFX table: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2328760/discussions/
Your video is currently set to private but pretty certain the upper flipper retraction is intentional.
Thanks, I put this into the wrong place :(
Nevertheless, I have updated the link visibility. I have seen similar glitches before, and in case of this table, there is a ramp blinking, which is accessible from that flipper only.
I tried your suggestions and everything seemed fine for a while but unfortunately the flippers are sticking again.
Any further details? FX3 defaults to 1920x1080 (16:9).
Have you tried a resolution with 16:10 aspect ratio like the Deck display?
- 1280x800 (native)
- 1440x900
- 1680x1050
- 1920x1200
Intel laptop with Nvidia GPU?
Yes, i7 with a Quaddro P1000
FX3 has likely defaulted to Intel Graphics which will crash. You just need to override the GPU choice in either Windows or the Nvidia Control Panel.
Option 1: Type 'Graphics Settings' into the Windows search bar.
Add Pinball FX3 as a Desktop app and in options select the Nvidia / High Performance GPU.

Option 2: Open Nvidia Control Panel and Manage 3D Settings.
Add Pinball FX3 and select Nvidia / High Performance as the preferred Graphics Processor.
