BUT I didn't pay attention to the OST and it was a huge bummer when I realized it has none of the trilogy's actual music in there!! None of the audio feels authentic. Doc's voice is alright I guess but Marty doesn't sound like M J Fox at all.
They did try to get the general feel of it but the soundtrack is such a key component of the franchise and without it it just feels like fan work.
If they couldn't get the Title song they could have tried to get Huey Lewis and the News or the Chuck Berry song.
They should make a DLC for that table which adds the licensed music :D
Back to the Future is one of my favorite movie franchises but I will be passing on this table set.
But they re-released less than a year ago the 30th anniversary edition of the Back to the Future game (Telltale) which has the entire soundtrack.
What you don't consider is the simple fact that the Soundtrack for all 3 movies were originally published by MCA. MCA is Universal, it's one and the same company. So the rights are with them and should be easy to aquire.
Considering a real small label named Intrada was able to license the score from BTTF and release it in 2009 which was successful enough for them to re-release the score again 2015, i don't think the licensing costs are too high.
I'm sorry, what?
2015 isn't that long ago and that year was all about BTTF 2 and "Let's see what came true", with the movies being back in theaters, there was a documentary ("Back in Time") released.
BTTF is as big as ever proven by the fact that Rocket League features the Delorean, that Lego Dimensions has a BTTF pack and the Telltale game got re-released and currently there is a musical in production.
Besides, if anything a "dead" franchise should be easier and cheaper to pick off, so that doesn't make any sense anyway.
Uhm, you wrote me a message, then you called me rude, then you wrote stuff like "so I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ if the husband/boyfriend didn't do it for you lastnight" and a whole barrage of other insults and now you continue your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ here?
Unbelievable...
Hey, it's not my fault you might have a bad day but you insulted me for a couple minutes in the chat for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason while sound like a little clueless child.
You should re-think your behaviour
A little self awareness can do wonders to keep your ego in check
Anyway, back on topic:
Yeah, I'm sure there are good reasons that they didn't include elements of the OST - the unfortunate result is that the table just doesn't feel very BTTF. The music is a huge part of those movies, perhaps they underestimated it's importance?
Music can be a weird thing to lisence at reasonable cost, so it was likely this or nothing. It's just... disappointing.
Someone mentioned the Rick and Morty voiceovers - if we would ever do a table based on the series (that would be cool - I turned my self into a metal ball Morty...I'm Pinball Riiick) I would be bummed out if we missed out on the excellent voicework.
