In FX2 I used to try to overshoot a little, and then up nudge to make it jump into the right place. but I have had limited success with that on FX3 when I had a good at the table.

Yeah, similar idea about a little push from down also did come to me, but in mentioned video i have feeling that man don't do it (ie just launch here), see here:

See that dark rectangle that looks like a bold capital I? When it's about to start disappearing, release the ball and it'll go in.

Well, I just gave the skill shot a try in FX3 and didn’t notice any difference.
It’s not bugged for me at least.

Here are two skill shots in a row:

Tip for longer games (works in FX2 and FX3):

Don’t go for the normal skill shot. After launching a ball you get the opportunity to shoot the ball towards the theatre using the upper left flipper. If you do this, and you shoot one of the sink holes in front of the theatre, you won’t start up a monster fight but instead collect a Magic Scroll. Every sink hole carries its own scroll. (You can use these scrolls during battles but they’re not that useful.)

Once you’ve collected all four of them, you’ll receive 2 million points and loot every time you pass by the theatre after a launch shot. And as you can see in the clip, you only have to shoot the SMASH target a couple of times to be returned to the plunger. A launch shot also gives you a ball save so you basically receive three gifts.

Here's the complete set-up sequence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DfXXaVympo

Well, it seems i figured what the reason of my dumbs (though i already guessed that this could be), it's more smooth (precisely) movement of ball launcher at start. I mean, you can choose exact position, even slightly move handle back\forth, right ? Perhaps this is result of control by joystick or gamepad (i use keyboard).

This is exactly what I do. I use a keyboard.

So what the result ? :D
I tried launch from this darn rectangle as well, but it's not helped.

I have found that the 'skill shot' scores very very little. I rather shoot it right past and get a spell .. cause as soon as you have all the spells.. and do not use em .. each treck to mill will yeald a nice bonus.

Now that scores much better than the lit skill shot hole.

If you are talking classic FX2 mode then yeah... MuddyWolf's way is pretty awesome. But if you are talking regular FX3 mode then no... that skill shot maxes out at 9 million a pop (or 18 million if you hit the score booster right before the ball falls of the ledge)

I just ran that table up to 2.3 billion on my first ball... before letting the rest drain (max skill shot, max distance bonus, level 3 score booster)

Oh idk? I feel like a lot of the great players prefer classic mode. But I like the wizard powers in FX3.

I think it adds a new dimension of game play.

Oh my holy smokes. Sorry man, i thought you just joked. Well, 9th place, damn...(strange that not a first, with such approach btw :D
Look, so, as you vrote you use keyboard (what actually seen on video), but damn, i use keyboard too and tried again yesterday repeat to make skill shot a bunch of times, but it never happened ! :D Damn. But in other many tables i can do skill shots. So, i cant understand what reason. I begin suspect various strange reasons like CPU model or monitor resolution :D I have no idea what else. I tried launch ball exactly the same, from dark rectangle border, with various deviations, but nope.
