Cabinet Build, 42" Playfield, 19" DMD, 32" Backglass
System Specs :- E8400 C2D @3.00ghz, GTX 560ti (Playfield), GTS250 (DMD & Backglass)
Ingame : vSync On, 2x MSAA, Shadow Med, Reflections On.
Before changing Frame Limit to 70 & Pre-rendered frames to 1. Had trouble on Many Tables.
Note: I also have all popups disabled.
Worked for me, Thanks Fujnik.
My classification with this trick:
Win 10 version 10/10
Steam version 8,5/10 (was 6/10)
XBox version 3/10
@Night-{Fr]. You should:
a) go to part 2 settings - Sync and Refresh, I use Frame Rate Limiter 65 fps (Frame Limiter v2), b) close Nvidia Inspector
c) launch Pinball FX3
with v sync = input delay
Try setting Pre-Rendered frames to 1
This was an issue for me aswell, more so in PFX2, When I installed PFX3 this was the first setting I changed. When you set Vsync On, or Limit Frame rate pre-Rendering Frames causes input delay. This is because if you Pre-Render 3 frames in 60 FPS you see 1/20th of a sec input delay, or 5 Hundredths of a second. Therefore 5% of that sec is delayed.
Google Pre-Rendered frames, Much Discussion about input lag. It can also cause people to see what they explain as a micro stutter.
I can confirm that changing the pre-rendered frames value to 1 helps. It doesn't completely eliminate the stuttering on my machine but at least lessens the ill effects of it. This certainly made the game more enjoyable to me while waiting for a patch to completely fix things.
E: Spoke too soo. The help I got from this method seems to vary between tables. I got immense help from this method on Civil War table which was pretty much unplayable before, but after trying Age of Ultron table, it seems that I got no advantages at all from this.
After changing settings Pre-Rendered Frames to 1, Enable Vsync in Game, Turned off all notifications and Character. I also installed RivaTuner Statistics Server after watching this video.

After Limiting FPS in Riva Tuner I get 100% lag free, Smooth as Silk provided that the game settings dont drop FPS to less than 60 FPS.
This is @1080x1920 (Playfield) in a Cabinet with 3 Screens using GTX560 TI fullscreen with a Core 2 Duo running at 3ghz. 4 gig Ram
Works for me anyway.......
Ok, this seems to work for some people, but really, i don't think we should have to tweak the system settings for a game that is supposed to have been tested through alpha and beta tests....
And Nvidia GPU are not rare, so the developpers should find another solution with a patch...
Bu thanks anyway
