Also, I'm not sure what they'll want from you with the rotating monitor. The cabinet mode does more than just supports rotating monitors. I had to provide photos of the cabinet I had built and agree not to sell the cabinets.
It would be interesting to learn why the cabinet mode isn't simply enabled out of the box. Is there some licensing restriction for installing on cabinets? Are they using it as an attempted form of piracy control?
I will say that playing in cabinet mode is a far superior experience and worth the wait to get your code. Just be patient.
the restrictions are there because we charge a license for people putting out a cabinet running our game into their pub, rec center etc.
Sam, write me a post to akos@zenstudios.com and I can speed things up a little
Please Zen Studios make cabinet mode payment option, everybody will be happy ;)
I confirm it took couple days to hear back from Zen for verification, thanks Akos for offering - it's sorted now.
The process is a bit cumbersome, requiring pictures and screenshots and so on, but it works in the end. I can play with my vertical monitor now, yay!
I understand the reasoning behind the licensing topic, but honestly portrait mode alone is what most people with "modern monitors" require and I still believe it should be included by default.
All the rest of the "cabinet support features" ok, fair enough, keep it on demand :)
They kind of are, as they ask you to send a picture of your setup and show proof of where it's located and how you (intend to) use it before sending the code ;)
