New enemy type — EVO4 Disruptor

• Very slow movement, high health, small attack damage, high stagger on hit

• The closer he is to players the more their flashlights start to flicker

• When he gets close to turrets they malfunction until he is either killed or goes away.

Inventory UI Update —

• Empty inventory slots now display a subtle grey outline

• Slots containing items now show a colored outline matching the item's rarity

  • Common — White

  • Rare — Green

  • Super Rare — Blue

  • Legendary — Yellow

• Item icons are now slightly scaled down within their slots so they no longer overlap with the border

Turret Heat system —

• Heat builds up from zero to max after 10s of shooting

• Heat dissipates to from max to zero in 20s when not shooting

Lowered Quadrant render size (from 16 to 1) —

• Cons: Could have slightly lower performance (few fps) on really shitty GPUs (mostly integrated GPUs)

• Pros: Should fix problems with too many lights in one place not showing correctly.

• For anyone interested... This is a Godot Engines limitation of only showing up to 16 lights per object. Which is fine for objects like players, props, turrets, etc,... But this also includes TileMapLayers which are the walls and floors you see in my game. They are split into quadrants of 16x16 by default. So when you have a big room of 16x16 tiles with more than 16 lights... The lights stop showing correctly. Since my players have a flashlight, an aura light around them and also when shooting a muzzle flash (3 lights total) + there are 4 players which is 12 lights in one room very easily. If each player places a turret that also has a flashlight and a muzzle flash (2 lights total) in the same room... That is potentially 20 lights at the same time so when another player throws a flare that flare is not going to be visible.
  That is the reason I decided to lower the quadrant size to 1 so that each tile (Wall, Floor) has its own 16 lights llimit that should fix it for now. Later I will introduce one more solution to prevent this happening along side this. The drawback with this solution is more draw calls on a GPU. Modern dedicated GPUs can handle this with no problem (except some integrated GPUs) only problem is that the CPU needs to send those draw calls to the GPU and that could potentially lower performance. We will begin testing this and maybe land on a different solution altogether.

Loot crates in Survival gamemode —

• Added more loot crates around the map to spread playable area.

• changed amount of items in existing crates to make it more even.

Fixed Clients being able to place infinite amount of turrets and other broken stuff.

Fixed if player was close to one turret for pickup all the turrets would get highlighted

Fixed game elements being visible behind UI (map)

Fixed some attacks not doing damage

Multiplayer Fixes

• Fixed a bug where remote players could be invisible to other non-host clients when joining a game

• Fixed duplicate scene transition packets being sent during game start

• Fixed flashlight state being broadcast excessively over the network, reducing bandwidth usage

• Fixed loot boxes always showing "Wave 0" regardless of when they were opened

• Fixed enemy health/speed/damage modifiers not being applied correctly during later waves

• Improved connection recovery — players who failed to appear will now automatically resync instead of staying invisible for the rest of the session

Peer Heartbeat timeout —

• Players who silently disconnect (crash, network loss, Alt+F4) are now detected and removed within 10 seconds

• Previously, ghost players could linger indefinitely until Steam's own timeout kicked in (30–60+ seconds)

• If the host goes silent, clients will now detect this and return to the menu instead of being stuck in a frozen lobby

• Fixes an issue where the game would keep sending data to disconnected players, wasting bandwidth

New low health effect — "Vignette"

• blood creeps in from the edges of your screen as you take damage, draining the world of colour the closer you are to death

• You can switch between "Chromatic aberration" and "Vignette" in the settings menu

Exit menus with "Esc"

Shared XP in Co-Op —

• Teammates now receive 50% of the kill XP when a player kills an enemy in co-op

Turret pickup —

• Players can now pick up placed turrets by walking up and holding the Interact key

• Picking up a turret refunds 50% of the remaining ability cooldown

• Only turrets owner can pick it up.

New lobby animations -> Thanks STRIX

Turrets — Heat buildup is 3x faster and Heat dissipation is 2x faster

Inventory - Tooltip Comparison Overhaul

• The \[Q] switch hint now only appears when both weapon slots are filled

• Added stat difference numbers when comparing weapons — each stat now shows a colored diff value like (+12.5) in green or (-3.2) in red next to the stat

• Diff values account for "inverted" stats: for Reload Duration and Shot Deviation, lower values show as green (better) and higher as red (worse)

• Base damage comparison accounts for projectile count (shotguns compare total damage per shot, not per pellet)

• Diff numbers only appear while actively comparing — stats display normally when no comparison is active

• Removed colored stat values from the tooltip — stat values are now a consistent orange to stand out from label text, modifier info is shown in the modifiers list below

• Comparison diffs now show ▲/▼ arrows (green ▲ = better, red ▼ = worse)

• Diff values now show proper units: fire rate shows "/min", shot deviation shows "°", reload time shows "s"

• Magazine size and fire rate diffs display as whole numbers instead of decimals

• Armor comparison now shows Max Armor and Movement Penalty diffs when hovering an armor piece while another is equipped

Kick force —

• Kick force against enemies increased from 350 -> 500

• Kick force against other players decreased from 400 -> 350
