Hello ppl,any good way as a new player to find leather?

Make it. Get a tannery, chuck all the hides you get off animals in it, you get leather.

Start the tanner journey and everything will be explained in-game in nice stages. You can switch journeys without losing any progress.

For "easy" hide, you can go hunt non-agressive animals like gazelles or even rabbits, skin the corpse with a skinning knife, then use hide and bark (use pickaxe on trees) to create leather in a tannery.
Ofc. you can also skin hyenas or other "agressive" animals. Only be aware, crocs, warans or salamanders give scales rather than hide*, and stuff like spiders and scorpions give chitin.

*Mixed something up here, I think you get reptile hide, you then can progress into "normal" hide.

When skinning enemies make sure you use the best quality skinning knife that you have access to. This will increase yield significantly over the low tier options. Also worth slotting a +resource harvesting mod on your knife if you have one or can make one.

Always use the best quality tools you can for harvesting, the difference between what you harvest using stone tools compared to steel and above is significant.
